How come when I read about shit like this it gives me a massive anxiety attack?
Because reality is too absurdly big.A few centuries ago you'd think you live in a big plain field under a dome with dotted lights. Now you know there are other planets, other stars, other galaxies, other groups of galaxies and regions of the universes and then comes this guy and says "this is just the tip of the iceberg". Penrose would calculate shit like "how are things going to be in a trillion years?". It's insane if you think about it, it's incomprehensible, whether it is finite and big or simply infinite (I don't know which one is crazier), it is not possible for our small minds to really understand what is going on. If we have trillions of universes with trillions of galaxies, then it's true, everything exists in some way or the other, somewhere. The big bang may be a mundane wednesday afternoon to another scale of things. It's just insane.
