why do many people say evaporative cooler (swamp cooler) does nothing it went from 35c to 25c in my living room thats at 45% humidity midday and cost virtually nothing compared to air conditioning maybe people arent installing them correctly or using them in appropriate conditions
25c is below the wet bulb temp for 35c at 45% humidity, so no you didn'tAs to answer, your question further, where I live, the average humidity is 70%.
>>16834009that's what the thermometer said how did that happen
>>16834014i use like 3 moisture absorbers in that living room but i doubt that would have an effect on cooling since they absorb humidity very slowly
>>16833978>using them in appropriate conditionsThat is exactly it.AC was first designed to take water out of the air in humid factories to prevent rust. Better working conditions was an irrelevant side effect.Evaporative cooling adds water to the air which is great for dryer conditions but ass for humid conditions. >>16834014Without doing any math, a simple answer would be that ambient temperature dropped.
>>16833978they work well in low humidity places. our summer month humidity is rarely below 60% and often into the 80% range. even lower temps like 20-25c feel like ass.
