What if instead of blocking pain receptors, they tried artificially increasing pain TOLERANCE instead? Even if it were permanent, would it work?

If I were a cancer patient who only had a few years to live, I'd rather live them without pain but a higher chance of getting hurt than be in constant agony.
>>
Doctors want to give addictive pills to patients because thats the best way to make money. Nobody cares about the outcome or what the best possible results for the patient would be, the doctors only care about getting money for themselves, thats why they went through medical school, etc.
>>

Doctors don't make any extra money for filing prescriptions. You were lied to.
>>
>>16834413
selling addictive drugs guarantees that they will get repeat business from the patient when the prescription needs to be refilled

>what is an illegal kickback scheme, ken?
At least watch the documentary if you aren't going to read the text.
>>
>>16834381
Exactly how do you think pain tolerance works, OP?
>>
>>16834419
Documentaries are a shit source of information.
Anyway, if your argument is "criminals exist so therefore everyone is doing it" then you already lost.
>>
>>16834430
My argument is you are incorrent and do not know what you are talking about. There is plenty of documentation of the kickbacks.
>>
>>16834438
Yes. Criminals exist. What implication are you attempting to derive from that?
>>
>>16834439
Doctors made extra money by filing prescriptions. You are wrong.
>>
I would suck a cock for a bottle of oxy right now

If I said "wheat farmers sell heroin," you'd rightfully call me retarded. If I then showed you an example of a wheat farmer that sold heroin once, you'd realize how idiotic a justification that would be for my statement.
Yet that argument would be identical to the argument you're making now.
>>
>>16834480
You have done none of those things.

Breakfast

Based on your thread, one would guess you skip it daily.
Good luck with your pill habit.
>>
>>16834536
What gave you the impression that I'm OP?
>>
>>16834396
this, modern medicine is just the opium wars all over again
>>
>>16834381
That just sounds to me like you'd either be using a lot more calories to maintain the mindset 24/7 or it would have to be a combination of tolerance training with injecting stuff that increases neurogenesis/bdnf.

There probably isnt an area in the brain or mechanism you can target for pain tolerance as whole

you'd have to use the opposite of a depressant, such as meth or trenbolone

>>16834413
even without kickbacks they are guaranteed more appointments with that person, and yes they do get paid for each appointment
>>16834381
there are a lot of signaling pathways that are downstream of pain receptors so it's not easy to just "increase tolerance" in the way you suggest
>>
>>16834381
>If I were a cancer patient who only had a few years to live
not if you took chlorine dioxide and other good stuff
>>
clove oil permanently raises your pain tolerance, its common in china, have fun goy

>they are guaranteed more appointments with that person
Doctors don't exactly have a shortage of appointments. It's a notoriously busy job.
