There is no afterlife and deep down most people already know this but can't handle it. Your consciousness isn't some magical soul floating around, it's literally just neurobiological processes firing in your brain. When your brain stops, you stop. Period. We're complex meat computers and when the hardware fails there's no software backup to the cloud. Philosophers love dancing around this with ontological gymnastics about "being-towards-death" and vitalist cope about consciousness transcending the physical, but it's all just elaborate denial. Science tells us we came from inanimate matter and we'll return to it. Freud was right that the aim of all life is death, a return to that inorganic state we borrowed ourselves from for a cosmically brief moment. In 4.5 billion years the sun dies and takes all trace of human thought with it, and the universe won't even notice we were here. No part of "you" persists because there is no "you" separate from the physical processes that generate the illusion of selfhood. Extinction isn't a doorway to something else, it's just the lights going out forever. Every spiritual framework or philosophical system that promises otherwise is just folk psychology and primitive theory we cling to because accepting annihilation is psychologically unbearable. But unbearable doesn't mean untrue.
how is "being towards death" dancing around it?
>>16835611theres no afterlife because your current life never ends
>>16835611If the self is all an illusion, who is seeing the illusion?
>>16835611>Philosophers love dancing aroundKeep coping chud this is all your post is, you're just espousing basic naturalist philosophy not doing science lol. U got nothing and can't prove squat
We aren’t even conscious right now. We react based on a cause and effect system, same as everything else in the universe. We can never die, because we were never alive to begin with
>>16835611If physics is homogenous across the entire universe, explain why antigravity works inside dreams.
>>16835611You don't understand anything and you're gay. What is AFTER LIFE is quite literally death: an "afterlife" would be the bog-standard continuation of stupid Materialist processes; rather, death itself constitutes the magical exception.
>>16835614NOP, but I'd say that from the pov of the observer, approaching the black hole is the same as approaching your own death. The clock ticks just get so damn far apart. And so few photons stop by to chat anymore.I'm so cold.
The faggot made the thread on /pol/ first, get out Demon. God made science to discover his world. https://boards.4chan.org/pol/thread/520522390#top

>the observable universe is an enormous place with many galaxies that follows specific physical rules>only one extremely small slice of it that contains gestalts and abstractions appears seemingly from nothing and has to figure out the physical rules>the physical rules are arbitrary and unnecessary, equally logically consistent to many hypothetical systems>the extremely small slice matches up with a specific pink blob because uh... we looked at the pink blob and figured it out>yeah but why?>whaddya mean why?>why is it like that?>it just is lmao what's wrong can't handle it?>yeah but what's the reason though, why that and not something else?>wtf it's just like that bro haha I don't make the rulesMaybe thinking is stupid. Asking why over and over again is for kids, right?
>>16835611>accepting annihilation is psychologically unbearableIt really isn't. Many people kill themselves precisely with this attitude in mind. Your entire post was gay and lame btw, these are the thoughts of a fourteen year old thinking they've struck philosophical profound and provocative ideas.
>>16835611Midwit post
>>16835611>There is no afterlife and deep down most people already know this but can't handle it."Deep down everyone agrees with me but they're pretending they don't, after all I'm right about everything and no-one could ever have a different view than me about anything"
>>16835625Either there is just one "self", or there's just experiences and nothing else. The "self" is experienced but it's a thought, a narrative like any other feeling.
There is an afterlife and deep down most people already sense this but are afraid to trust it. Your consciousness isn’t just neurons firing in your skull, it’s a soul expressing itself through biological form. When your brain stops, you don’t stop. You continue. Always. We’re radiant beings having a physical experience, and when the body fails there’s an eternal essence that returns to its source. Philosophers have spent centuries circling this truth with their language of transcendence and being, because they understand intuitively that consciousness reaches far beyond the material. Science, in its evolving humility, is slowly uncovering that life comes not merely from matter but from an animating intelligence behind it. Freud missed the mark— the aim of life isn’t death, but integration; a returning home to the spiritual wholeness we temporarily stepped away from to taste individuality for a moment in cosmic time. In 4.5 billion years, even if the sun burns away, the essence of human thought will persist beyond it, woven into the fabric of divine awareness. Every part of “you” endures because the real “you” is not the fleeting body or mind, but the eternal spark that animates them. Death is not extinction but awakening— the doorway through which we rejoin a greater field of being. Every spiritual framework and mystical philosophy that points to this is an echo of deep truth we’ve known since the beginning: annihilation is the illusion, and life, in its endless renewal, is the reality.
Time is an illusionTraversing time is deaths demiseWe are going to use time travel to go back and save everyone who ever lived.I have a plan.....
>>16835636>just espousing basic naturalist philosophy not doing scienceThat's literally what science is though? Scientists were called natural philosophers
Why in the fuck would THE Creator make a Verse' with billions of galaxies, just to portal you out of it to never explore any of it after dying from a toothache.I don't care if the afterlife is cooler, I want to fucking EXPLORE THIS GOD DAMNED MAP!I am a completionist you autist speed running assholesI am the master of past and present.NO ONE IN THIS THREAD CAN STAND AGAINST ME!I am the Paul from booth the Twin Peaks 80's version and the TimTim French modern retelling.I am the Paul from the crazy 70's version that never got made.Probably book Paul also, have not read them yet though.WTF was i saying? Oh yeah, so you are the creator. You make all this cool shit, then you want to shit it to people and dab and flex on them. But they die before they ever get to see any of it.....The end.....? Or is it?.....Time travel is nothing more than water travel, air travel, space travel, all thought IMPOSSIBLE at one time. Sailing around the world? INSANE! Flight?I N S A N E !Space? NEVER!A green frog being Sailing upon a time surf board? AGHHHH IM GOING CRAZY THAT IS A BRIDGE TOO FAR AGHHHH!!!!!!!!Live and Die well, because you are going to suddenly awaken and have a jesus looking dude start dancing above your corpse talking shit to you pulling you up into the light senpai.Forgiveness is the key.
Hell is to die and be frozen in time, as a planet...as a species....never ascending.....Heaven is Creation waiting for us to earn this monstrous power. So easy it is for you to say a magic word and "be saved" throw this creation away like trash.... but we carry the torch forwards? No that's not right....we pass the torch backwards through time? Technically you can move it sideways? Its a metaphor....save point in time....be saved....The torch is meant to convey...well...well no because we still need heat to live, and fire is really all around us burning stuff and keeping us alive, so it is kind of literal. Wait...yeah....time mastery....save points umm humm....comeback kid....jeebus...forgiveness.....forgiveness......forgiveness....
>>16835611In 100 generations of humans, we have gone from barely subsisting on farmland to a species that has gone to the moon. 4.5 billion years is like 100 million generations of people, which is more or less 100 million more than have passed. Assuming we don't nuke ourselves to extinction or destroy our planet faster than we can adapt to it, it's impossible to imagine what our descendants will be capable of in even a fraction of that time.In the meantime, you can see yourself as a life to be snuffed out or a life used to to benefit the future. At the same time, fight for comfort, fulfillment, and wealth (not money) while you're here.
>>16835611OP are you twelve? Everyone knows this
>>16836489Everyone is a materialist? That must be news to everyone other than you.
The mind is just a mathematical object. It can't die, no more than cos(x) can die.
>>16835611>there's no afterlife>consciousness is just neurobiological processes>actually consciousness doesn't even exist>everything is just an illusion of chemical reactionsthat's cool bro. i'm gonna go read more OOBE accounts now.
oh OP, if only you knew the truth
>>16835611This is all true and making the copers seethe
>>16835611>Philosophers love dancing around thisYou mean like how materialists dance around qualia?
