Are autodidacts more intelligent than university goys?
>>
>>16855778
You didn't teach yourself anything. You are still learning from everyone before you.
>>
I'm 100% self-taught, I hold no University degree, and am of unknown intelligence (never cared to get tested). I make an MD's salary without the debt of an MD and work from home. I'd say that makes me an autodidactic autistic loser.

Similar, except I don't just work from home, I work from bed, like Voltaire.

I was tested at 9 because I had a gestalt-style brain that read 3000+ WPM and could instantly add long strings of numbers. Those useless attributes faded with puberty, but I still operate at a mental speed that makes it very uncomfortable to learn in a classroom.

As for salary, that's a pointless detail that makes me wonder if you're full of shit. I find work that interests me (med tech atm) and if I find that I'm adding value I stick with it.

>Are autodidacts more intelligent than university goys?

In most cases no, because the vast majority of people do not have the discipline required to self-replicate the stricture of a proper education. They also will not (usually) have access to any high cost equipment so depending on what the field of study is, it can be absolutely crippling in terms of gaining valuable experience. However autodidacts are often more passionate about their subject matter and this may lead to them seeing certain things that others don't. However with the vast increase in information and methodological rigor we have after the 20th century it is hard to see where an autodidact can make any significant contributions outside of already amateur friendly pursuits like observational astronomy. The ideal for an autodidact would be some kind of apprenticeship but that doesn't exist anymore for the sciences outside of the universities.

I always know when someone brings up iq like they're some prodigy full of shit.

High energy particle physicist here, I'm self-taught and quntum theory is wrong.
>>
>>16855966
I always know when someone is a) not an autodidact and b) skipped English class.
>>
Most autodidacts do their autodidactism in their high school years, and then go to university afterwards to level up their skills. You are assuming a dichotomy that doesn't exist.
>>

Fuck no. Autodidacts are worse than LLMs. Quadratic equation, page 36, states that...Bitch shut up and apply it! You can't. Word problem, real life, duh whu?

Quite the limb you're willing to stand on.
Brave.

>most autodidacts aren't autodidactic
You fail to understand the question.

It's funny how the state-"educated" golem gets immediately triggered and starts denying the very concept of independent learning.

>I hold no University degree,

Neither did Tesla, btw.

It's just a piece of paper, at the end of the day. The only thing that matter is what's between your ears.

im an autodidact i have discoveries in finance that are proprietary as fuck so take that for what it is
>>
>>16855778
there only are autodidacts anon, nothing else
you think a few hours at a university class is enough to teach you depth in any serious subject?
no you gotta study by yourself if you want to achieve proficiency and especially mastery

that being said, college is a testing ground for discipline and commitment
while not all those who finish college will become competent, those who are competent most likely finished university
the system is built to reward intelligent and disciplined people with more in depth education

so yes unless there is some special reason of why you didn't go to college, most intelligent people will go to college and most likely will get an MSc and maybe a PhD too
because that's just how the system works, no reason to fight against it

but on the other hand like I said, everyone's an autodidact so yes there are people who for various reasons did not attend higher education but have the discipline and intelligence to learn entirely on their own

go to any top of the top breakthrough research company where the world's mega-autists make big bank, like cutting edge AI, quant, etc. and 9/10 people will be PhDs
But there will be the 1/10 autodidact, and the best of these companies have ways to find him and recruit him.

I specifically remember an add of such a company which said don't be afraid to apply if you don't have a degree.
Obviously the stuff they did was PhD+ level but they wanted to make sure the elite autodidact wasn't too scared to hit the apply button.

So obviously they go to great lengths to find such people, if this means that the top of the top autodidacts are better than the top of the top PhDs I don't know. Maybe they are or maybe they just try to find anyone who passes the super-genius threshold.
