Why do engineers always get butthurt when you call yourself an engineer if you don't have a Bachelors in engineering and always respond with "muh licensure muh PE" even though PhysicistChads can do their job and 100 times better?

Oh, you're an engineer? Name all the engines.
>>
>>16865444
You need a license to be a real engineer faggot.
Just like you need one to be a doctor or lawyer.
And the hard prerequisite is a recognized BSc.
>>
>>16865452
Only makes sense for critical industries like Civil where integrity matters and regulations are strict. Otherwise for ME and EE it's all just applied science which physicists can do anyways.
>>
>>16865457
doesn't matter what you can and cannot do
if it's a matter of public safety you need a license
yes in ME and EE too

you also can read all the legal books or medicine books and have a doctor's or lawyer's knowledge, but you can't practice it
that's just how it is

and why Engineers feel butthurt for "Software Engineers" do, and they are right
they should have called themselves something else to avoid confusion with the profession that requires licensing

>t software "Engineer"

So explain physicists who end up working in engineering roles or job postings where companies consider physics graduates for engineering positions.
>>

Physicist subhumans are only good when they're in the labs, like the pathetic lab monkeys that they are.
When it comes to dealing with customers, defining design specifications and identifying production constraints, it's always Engineers >>> Physics/Math subhumans
>>
>>16865444
>Why do engineers always
Why are posts that start this way always low quality and based on a false premise?
>>
>>16865500
Anyone can do engineering work, even without a degree or license. A lot of practicing engineers with engineering degrees don't even have a license. But their work all has to be overseen and approved by a licensed engineer, to make sure everything is done safely and in accordance with any applicable codes or standards.

>PhysicistChads can do their job and 100 times better?
never seen this IRL. engineers get put through the wringer in terms of having to put up with shit in a way that academic programs don't do. I work at a lab where we get all kinds of people (EE&CS institute, robotics lab), the mecanical and electrical engineering grads consistently outperform the others we get (mostly CS, some physicists, a random mix of others)

physicists can not make, review or even edit engineering drawings so this is not real work in the sense of engineering, they are likely employed to do material experiments, not to design anything important, engineering is not synonymous with physics, engineers need to care about standards and regulations in their designing, they need to be familiar with cost of materials, etc so many tiny details that would bog down your typical scientist, i don't understand where this entitlement from scientists come from when they can't even look at an one engineering drawing out of hundreds in one design project and tell you what's what

Fake engineers are caught up in status of degrees. Real engineers build stuff.

licenses aren’t required libtard
