All this vegetable did was peddle unprovable or just plain incorrect theories. Stole people's work or added very minor tweaks or simply road their coat tails.

I get the sense that most physicists knew this, but were unwilling to point out his flaws as a scientist until after he was outed as a pedophile.

He died in the 80s they replaced him with an actor

wasnt it just one?

penrose- hawking theorem was Almost entirely Penrose’s work. hawking just applied it to cosmology.

Hartle–Hawking No-Boundary Proposal which was complete junk science that he completely abandoned

Hawking Radiation was stolen from 2 Russian physicists Zel’dovich & Starobinsky, before meeting them hawking didn't believe blackholes radiate energy. Soviets did the physically rich, mathematically difficult case (rotating black holes) and proved the effect exists.
Hawking did the simpler, cleaner case (non-rotating) and got a nice Planck spectrum as a bonus.

sounds like someone didn't make it to the time traveler party tehehe

why is hartle-hawking junk science?

He wasn't a vegetable. His IQ was only 125 though. So he created a chair that would re-route all the power from his body to his brain which increased his IQ to 180+. He only ever left the chair to go to Epstein Island.

it's a Mathematical sleight of hand to show the universe has no beginning. both of those people abandoned the theory
>>

Man, we stole quite a bit of shit from my man Yakov Zel'dovich. It's pretty crazy that a lot of our highly classified programs we literally took from PUBLISHED Russian research. We didn't even have to steal it, except (((whoever))) exfiltrated photos of Zel'dovich's methane delay column in his phase conjugation tabletop experiments.
>>

There's no slight of hand, the universe does not have a beginning.
>>

he used imaginary time to describe the universe and twist it in a way where it wouldn't have a peak (the beginning). the only problem is imaginary time is not real. it's a useful mathematical tool though. it's almost like turning a mountain on its side to hide the peak

You don't sound very educated.

>slight of hand
anon that other anon literally used the correct spelling, sleight of hand, you could have copy pasted it but noooo, you had to fuck it up. i bet when you see something interesting you say it "peaked your interest" too. honestly why is this board so full of fucking idiots? can't you all stay on /lit/ instead?
>the universe does not have a beginning.
fucks sake Hoyle i thought you were dead
