Anyone else think the "stay in school" genes actually have nothing to do with intelligence or IQ whatsoever? They keep being touted in genome wide association studies as proxies for intelligence, which I feel is horseshit. If anything most of these genes probably have something to do with emotional regulation or lower anxiety levels, where someone can stay inactive at a desk like an NPC and not be attacked with existential thoughts or feel like they need more physical activity. Basically the stay in school genes are actually NPC letzte mensch genes where you're less likely to feel anything. I personally ran my own autosomal file through the GWAS study Ed Dutton and Michael Woodly used to gauge the intelligence of ancient Romans and came "below average" in both polygenic intelligence and years of schooling even though I came 98th percentile on my country's version of the SATs, have a confirmed IQ of 140 on an in person test, got into an accelerated learning program through a standardised test and my dad is an ex Uni lecturer, so I frankly think the entire field is mostly statistical pseudoscience ATP

We currently can't accurately predict the IQ's of individuals AFAIK.
