Why did the BP oil spill do nothing for the left-wing green energy cause? It was basically 9/11 except replace muslims with the oil industry. But 16 years later, alternative energy has made negligible progress.

I read something about some bacteria in the oceans eating most of the oil that got spilled out by the BP oil spill, otherwise it would have been a lot worse.
