We're talking decades to centuries just to get there - you can't use the flyby probes as a stand-in, they're going way too fast to have enough delta-v to slow down enough for a capture. Only viable option without "magical tech" levels of delta-v AND acceleration on your craft is a slow chain of low energy transfers to Neptune, then to your destination, which may take longer than a human lifespan.Assuming the human lifespan problem is solved, I'd still go with a main belt asteroid myself. Kuiper Belt and Oort Cloud objects aren't very strongly bound to Sol, gravitationally, so over long timescales they're likely to get perturbed by stellar encounters.Gliese 710 is going to come as close as about 10,000AU to Sol in about 1.3 million years, which will wreak havoc on the Oort Cloud and probably cause a large increase in impactors throughout the solar system. And that's not even considering that it may itself have a cloud of gravitationally captured bodies around it that will wreak havoc on the solar system. It's 60% the mass of Sol, which is actually quite large for a star.

You've got to be going WAY slower for a capture than something like the Voyager probes or New Horizons - and those still took several years to get out that far.Without ludicrous delta-v for braking you'll spend a lot of your transit time going at that slower speed.All these issues essentially fall away if human lifespans are extended substantially, as it makes long-term plans like this more feasible. It's pretty much a prerequisite for outer solar system travel, IMO. The lifespan to be more patient about transfer times means you get the added benefit of being able to use super long, low-energy transfers - more of your craft's mass can be used for supplies, and less will be reserved for fuel.One thing you've also got to consider is the area of solar collection each human's caloric needs require goes up with the distance squared, so unless you've modified your metabolism to require less energy you're gonna need fusion reactors (very likely enormous, assuming tokamaks/stellarators can even work; assumes you can refuel in-situ, which may not be as much of an option as it seems) or absolutely gargantuan solar panels to keep yourself alive.
