I've heard so many people say "Oh I try not to eat much meat because it's hard to digest and I get bloated" I've heard this from MMA fighters to Actors to "Scientists" to people in my own life.

Meat is the most digestible food, it doesn't go to your big intestine because it has already been digested by the small intestine. You absorb up to 93% of the nutrients leaving you with minimal amount of waste for you to excrete.

what the FUCK are you talking about? eating meat is an evolutionary advantage mainly because it's so much energy and protein and shit
even herbivores will happily eat any small animals that wander to close to their mouths because it's free protein
>>
>>16930828
I've heard it so many times bro don't gaslight me.
>>
>>16930824
Because meat is masculine 'n' shiet
>>
>>16930830
you fucking retard cows need like 18 stomachs just to digest grass how many stomachs does a lion have?
>>
>>16930824
Can you link a single scientific source that actually says that meat is difficult to digest? Be specific.
>>
>>16930833
I don't have a scientific source but don't tell me you haven't heard the "meat just sits in your gut and rots bullshit" I'm just wondering where that myth came from.
>>
>>16930835
I have literally never heard that, perhaps you visit some sort of blog that I don't? If you are outraged by what you read in blogs, consider stopping reading them. In any case not science.
>>
>>16930836
nta it's an old wives' tale
it's a justification for women being basically shit surrounded by even shittier men (who aren't providing meat consistently neither for their evolved-hunter-gatherer whore)
>>
I'm pretty sure this is one of those myths that doesn't really have a common origin.
It's poeple starting from the simplified qualitative assessment they've been fed (meat bad) and extrapolate from that whatever made up shit that makes it bad. It's genuinely a low-IQ thing.

Try telling these same types of people that there are genuine health benefits to smoking. They have a genuine emotional reaction to hearing "bad thing isn't necessarily bad in every conceivable way."

to be fair, high fat low fiber diets can give you poop clots, but you're talking extremely poor lifestyle choices at that point
>>
>>16930835
I have heard that from veganoids. It's just nonsense.

On the other hand eating some things that are hard to digest is probably good for you too.

Terrorists don't want people eating real food.

>Meat is the most digestible food, it doesn't go to your big intestine because it has already been digested by the small intestine. You absorb up to 93% of the nutrients leaving you with minimal amount of waste for you to excrete.
This is all true, but that's precisely what makes it more taxing on the stomach and pancreas. Proteins require more acid/enzymes to break down than sugars, which can cause acid reflux, while fats (lipids/cholesterol/triglycerids) are hardly digested at all before passing to the small intestine where they have to be flooded by the pancreas. Fibers are hard to digest but precisely because of that, they help transit when passing along even if they spend a while fermenting in the large intestine. By comparison pasta and bread don't stay in the stomach but will bulk by soaking up all the water, further bloat you with gas when broken down and fermented, and spike your blood sugar because, well, it's almost all sugar.

So yeah, you will feel hot and lethargic and like you have a brick in your stomach when you eat a lot of meat, precisely because your digestive system is working full throttle to process it all, and later digestion releases a lot of gases too because you can't actually digest so much at once, and the fact that you end up with no waste can ruin your transit.

t. regularly eats 500g-1kg of red meat in one meal despite the downsides

There are studies about how when someone's gut biome is adapted to eating only plants, it becomes harder to digest meat until the proper gut biome for digesting meat is built up and it goes the same way for people whose biome is adapted to meat when they try to eat just plants.

>and like you have a brick in your stomach when you eat a lot of meat, precisely because your digestive system is working full throttle to process it all
I feel like that when eating carbs and breads - rice and pasta. Not when I eat meat. Meat is actually the easiest on my stomach I don't feel like laying down after I eat it.

There was an urban story about John Wayne. After he died there was an autopsy and they found undigested beef in his stomach but that was an absolute lie.

Another myth. Personally I have experienced the opposite, carnivore makes pooping easier. And research conducted in australia on fiber shows a correlation between intake of fiber and increased constipation.
Everything you have been sold on fiber is a lie.
>>
>>16930950
>farting from meat
No. When I eat carnivore I have hardly any farts. Maybe 1 a day and it's very small. Whereas with carbohydrates I get many farts.
>>
>>16930824
You aren't supposed to eat so much meat. People just do because they associate it with status and not wanting to look poor. Over-consumption of animal protein is actually bad for you with many downsides but most people can't meal plan or create diverse dishes options for various reasons or refuse to do so.

>Personally I have experienced the opposite, carnivore makes pooping easier
That's an anecdote anon
>And research conducted in australia on fiber shows a correlation between intake of fiber and increased constipation.
Only if you don't drink liquids/water and only eat insoluble fibre.

Because eating red meat does take a lot of time to digest. Cooking meat is what makes it easier to do but it still takes up energy and time to do it.

>>16930832
Lions spend a ton of their time lying around and resting because digesting for them takes time, mainly because they have to eat a lot to feed their killing machine bodies. Their entire cycle hinges on killing a large animal and then resting/digesting that meat before they can arise from their rest and hunt again.
>>
>>16931585
Meat sitting in the stomach longer than vegetables is a good thing. It is the natural cycle for humans. You eat a large portion of meat and then go do activities for a day or two without feeling hunger then go get some more meat. Unlike plants which leave you hungry after an hour.

We are made to digest meat, yeah you can eat a fruit or bread but it has zero of nutrients you need.
Meat is the only thing that consists of the following nutrients, nothing else even compares.

I'd rather eat a meal of actual nutrients than fuck around with bullshit and take retarded supplements with filler.
>>
>>16931585
>Lions spend a ton of their time lying around and resting because digesting for them takes time
As opposed to cows which run around all day?
>>
>>16931687
dood, if you stand next to a cow you'd realize they are literally walking furnaces
people used to heat their homes with cows for that very reason
>>
>>16930824
that was the excuse this girl i went to school with used because she liked getting colonics
>>
>>16931585
>mainly because they have to eat a lot to feed their killing machine bodies
Opposite is true. Predators barely eat, lions eat only once every 4 days. Cows on the other hand constantly munch on grass because green parts of plants are harder to digest and provide very low nutrients (proteins, fats). This is the evolutionary tradeoff, grass and plants are everywhere in wilderness so they are extremely easy to eat but are hard to digest. Meat, seeds and fruits on the other hand are calorically dense, far more nutritious and easier to digest, but it’s much harder to find this good and catch it, so you have animals that maximise their digestion ability and feeding quantity and then animals that maximise their “killer bodies” to catch and find higher quality and rarer food.
