Still have my gargantuan handbook of integral tables. Never bothered to expend more energy than necessary.

i don't understand your image. it says deriving is bad, but then derives it?

Something something Sneed.
Idk but "fuck and suck" is the punchline I guess. I don't understand it either.

I've tried a few times to derive the quadratic formula without remembering how to do it and completely fail compared to looking up how to do it
there's such a thing as information hazards anon I even forgot how to count after getting to the bottom of the math iceberg or whatever stupid shit this board parrots

>frying your brain on pointless tasks
good keep wasting your time on that while i produce fruitful research and fuck your mom

You should be able to derive most of these things but you are not expected to derive all of them on the fly. The idea is to stand on the sboulders of the giants and improve upon their work without reinventing the wheel but it's not the same as mindlessly copy pasting stuff. There's nuance to this a meme cannot capture.

counting is easy, just turn 360 degrees and you've counted to infinity once

It's all about completing the square. Every quadratic can be written in either standard form
Ax^2 +Bx + C = 0
Or vertex form
(px+q)^2 = k
The solution to x in vertex form is trivial. But vertex form is equivalent to
p^2 x^2 + 2pq x + q^2 = k
Therefore you can relate (p,q,k) to (A,B,C) and simply re-express your vertex-form solution for x in terms of standard variables. This isn't how it's traditionally taught because the high school teachers just memorize just faggy "trick" when really the trick came from simplifying the steps to this trivial procedure.

average look up fan would post memes about not deriving.
average derivation enjoyer would derive nonetheless

but would you look it up?
nah I'd derive

Verify every integral in that table yourself at least once in your life, just so you know they're not lying
