Is trigonometrizing apartments (I know it doesn't work well with automobiles) a way to use space more efficiently?
>>16934478No. Humans and the things we put into our homes don't use corners well and this maximizes corner space.

Bees have this sussed, we should all live in hexagons
>>16934478A circular outer wall minimzes surface area - but since buildings tend to be near other buildings, hexagons to maximize internal area for multiple structures. >>16937232Problem is that hexagons are not self-similar, so you can't just make your furniture hexagonal and have it neatly tessalate, even if hexagonal furniture was a good idea (it probably isn't). For that you want everything square. There are other things that can be done with exterior shape but there's no way I'm posting them here because not all of you are entirely dim and working without credit gets tiring eventually. So don't mistake having some conclusions for it being a closed problem
>>16937283What do you mean hexagons aren't self similar?

>>16937362I might not be using the precisely correct term here. But a square can fit any arbitary number of equally sized smaller squares without leaving any gaps. A hexagon can't be completely tiled with smaller hexagons, there are always odd shaped spaces
