What's the IQ cuttoff for being made totally irrelevant by AI? I've been procrastinating making something of myself for a decade
>>
We don't need any more AI threads. We're full.
Actually, no, scratch that. We don't need ANY AI threads.

Probably like the midwit meme in pic related. AI is basically focusing on the low-mid level white collar work. Which includes your clerks, assistants, secretaries, phone operators, entry/Jr level office/inventory/advertising/art jobs. People in trades, civic jobs, military, engineering and cyber security seem okay for now.

Jury is still out for medicine, law and research since machine learning is making strides in doing paperwork. Education is a toss up because while AI can affect some job prospects the bigger issue is low birthrate projections. Which reduces the "need" for staff and teachers at the local level.

In other words your 80-90 IQ grunts and +120 autists are having the last laugh.

Okay so I'm pretty much firmly fucked then

You're fucked if you go down the typical "path" that's been carved out by society for 95-115 IQ people. In other words liberal arts, business, law, fine arts and education college majors. Even some STEM programs like computer science and the softer sciences like psychology are on shaky ground because of A.I..

Depending on your interest and how old you are going the trade route then pursuing an engineering field that is associated with that trade (while getting some certs) is the way to go. There's also the military...but depending on where you live that might get in deep with things you may agree or disagree with.

Basically avoid the debt trap via college and focus on technical training.
