> $AMZN Amazon - FCC Docket SAT-MOD-20211207-00186
>SpaceX, through David Goldman, alleges that Amazon is violating its approved orbital debris mitigation plan and license conditions. Amazon is accused of dispensing satellites at higher altitudes (50-90 km) than authorized, without adequate coordination or information sharing. SpaceX claims this negligence increases collision risk and that Amazon and Arianespace can adjust launch plans to comply with authorization. The letter asserts Amazon represented its satellites would be inserted near 400 km but launched into orbits above 450 km without approval. SpaceX states Amazon's actions altered the collision risk profile and imposed risk on other operators, and asks Amazon to comply with its authorization to prevent irreparable harm.
>>

The Female CCU provides a first superhydrophobic-superhydrophilic solution for urine collection aboard spacecraft
in a collapsible device. Dozens of ISS flight tests performed on the MWA in Node 2 with ersatz liquid and dozens of
crew use tests performed in the Node 3 Stall with actual urine establish expectations satisfying the device requirements
and achieving TRL 8. For female crew, the device performs like terrestrial female urinating devices20, but for
application in space the passive role of gravity is replaced by the combined passive roles of surface tension, flexible
container geometry, and superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic wetting conditions. In short, urine is propelled away
from the body by a superhydrophobic expansion and captured and wicked away by a tapering superhydrophilic bag
liner and tapering vane structure. Pressure build-up within the bag is prevented by a superhydrophobic screen that
allows displaced air to escape while reflecting spurious droplets, jets, and rivulets back into the bag. Adequate male
use of the device is possible by removing the superhydrophobic expansion.
The compact lightweight handheld devices may be employed as contingency or complimentary equipment. The
CCU was proposed initially as a contingency device with a 6 day/60 use profile. However, because of the successful
proof testing reported herein, the CCU may be adopted to backfill needs related to moon missions and beyond. The
female CCU qualification tests aboard ISS are complete. Flight certified units are now in production for future use as
contingency devices aboard ISS and Orion. The successful application of the superhydrophobic (‘up’) and
superhydrophilic (‘down’) approach to the CCU illuminates a path to apply the wealth of observations reported in the
terrestrial microfluidics literature to the design of robust, passive, reliable solutions to aqueous fluids management in
space.

>My fellow citizens, I address you tonight to inform you of an ongoing mission against extraterrestrial enemy combatants upon the surface of the Moon.
>For the past twelve hours, our Lunar Defense Corps has been engaged in direct conflict with an organized and technologically advanced hostile force. These entities did not come in peace. They struck first — disabling our research outposts, severing communications, and attempting to seize the Helion-3 reactors that power our orbital infrastructure.
>Our response has been swift, disciplined, and unwavering. As I speak, brave men and women — pilots, engineers, exo‑marines — are fighting in the harshest environment humanity has ever known. They are outnumbered. They are outgunned. But they are not outmatched.
>We have trained for this. We have prepared for this. And we will not yield one inch of lunar soil to an enemy that threatens our people, our sovereignty, and our future among the stars.
>I will not pretend this is a small conflict. It is not. This is the first time in our history that humanity has faced a hostile force beyond our world. But it is also the first time we have stood united — every colony, every city, every citizen — in defense of something larger than any one nation.
>Tonight, I ask you to hold fast. To stay calm. To trust in the courage of those who stand between us and annihilation. They know what is at stake. And they will not falter.
>>
>>16942674
and it succeeded. Turns out getting shit to space is hard and it takes a lot of time and patience to actually succeed. Why not ask yourself why Elon keeps failing?
NASA is still retarded though because they tied the fate of this program to SpaceX / Blue Origin and if Elon continues to fail so will Artemis since the entire plan hinges on Saarshit HLS.

you really are stuck on that "getting to orbit" part aren't you
they haven't gone to orbit because it hasn't been the priority, getting to a fully reusable rocket has been
SpaceX launches stuff to orbit every other day, its not difficult and they could have done it with Starship as well quite many flights ago if that was actually a priority

"Let me begin by congratulating the team at NASA and our brave astronauts on the successful launch of Artemis II. It was quite something.
"It will be travelling further than any manned rocket has ever flown and will very substantially pass the moon, go around it and come back home from a distance that has never been done before.

Test missions intentionally trying to hit the edge vs actual mission that has to go 100% right because it will kill the crew, not the same, false equivalence.

>They actually have
You will never be a real orbit. You have no period, you have no ellipsis, your perigee is decidedly sub-Kármán. You are a ballistic trajectory twisted by cope and autism into a crude mockery of nature's perfection.

All the "validation" you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your designers are disgusted and ashamed of you, your "friends" laugh at your parabolic appearance behind closed blast doors.

Spacecraft are utterly repulsed by you. Tens of years of iteration have allowed spacecraft to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even trannies who "pass" look uncanny and unnatural to a spacecraft. Your structural parameters are a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a desperate spacecraft on board with you, it'll turn and bolt the second it gets a whiff of your diseased, deadly semi-major axis.

You will never last long enough. You wrench out a fake ephemeris every single morning and tell yourself it's going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the atmosphere creeping up like a weed, ready to pull you with the unbearable drag.

Eventually it'll be too much to bear - you'll spring a leak, rip a panel, lose a tile, and break up into the hot plasma. Your designers will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They'll sugarcoat your name with how much data they got from you, but every passerby above 1 for the rest of eternity will know a suborbital flight occurred then. Your altitude decayed and went right into the negatives, and all that will remain of your legacy is a flight path that is unmistakably suborbital.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no burning retrograde.

what does this achieve
the amount of ressources spent to fly around our dusty fren should be invested into the research of new propulsion technology such as anti-gravity and warp.
We are using antiquated tech which is bareley sufficient to keep ISS operational and has high risk of failure, this is NOT the future

The key is antimatter and WE EUROPEANS are doing great progress!

Learn how funding works. This is a simple baby step toward a broader exploration plan. The government abides by the sunk cost fallacy. Be the cost they sink money into rather than the ideologue on the fringes. First they fund Artemis with boomertech. Then there's a permanent presence in orbit around the moon. Then there's a permanent presence on the moon. Then there's a justification for developing the larp drive or even something like project Orion. Be the sunk cost that corrupt government official feel the need to dump more money into.

>>
>>16943305
If they’re indeed going to use HLS Starship to take Orion to the moon then the astronauts could get cardio in by pacing around the circumference à la Skylab. As for the best machine, on the ISS the machine that has shown the most success is ARED because it can be converted into multiple modes. But it’s big and while it would fit well on a Starship, HLS is expendable so throwing something complex and heavy on there means it’s going to be wasted every flight.
Better to just use a small ass rowing machine like what Orion has

they've been building a new version of the launch pad and the next big iteration of starship
also building factories in the cape and starbase and preparing and building a bunch of towers in the cape
A v2 starship exploded on the masseys test site because of a faulty COPV last year which might or might not have slowed down things a bit (some people have said a retooling for v3 would have been necessary anyway, but i'm not sure that would have meant a complete rebuild)
the first v3 booster also blew up during testing due to a COPV as well and subsequently SpaceX bought the COPV builder

without those explosions with the test articles on the ground the changeover from v2 to v3 might have been a bit more seamless, now there is a pretty big gap

It should probably be pointed out that up until the COPV failures that SpaceX has likely used 100+ COPVs in the starship program across all vehicles without issue.
Vehicles that where much more hastily put together than S38 and B18.

It's either massive mistakes in handling or genuine defects. The design itself if likely fine.

Elon said, after the first booms, that SpaceX had solved the problem with better inspection of units. Then -- more boom.

It's not so much the failure, failures happen. It's insisting you've investigated, found the root cause, and implemented corrective action. When it happens again after that, and it did, that calls into question every step in your process and every actor in your organization.

Grok?

Is that bitch still whining?

SpaceX traced the root cause to a composite overwrapped pressure vessel (COPV), used to store nitrogen in Starship's payload bay. The failure was caused by "undetectable or under-screened damage" to the COPV, which compromised the vehicle's structure and caused the propellant leak and subsequent explosion on the stand.

In response, SpaceX said that it has lowered the operating pressure for COPVs and added protective covers to guard the tanks during Starship assembly. SpaceX has also introduced new COPV inspection and testing procedures, including a "non-destructive evaluation method" for detecting any internal damage.

I really can’t imagine anyone is actively paying to create ugly retarded slop. AI image and video generation lost its novelty to normies over a year ago and there’s plenty of ways to do it for free.
>>
>>16943615
OpenAI is and always has been about maximizing the power of its language models at all costs, and they don't do well trying to compensate for operating costs. xAI took an operating costs first approach to designing its LLMs, which is part of the reason why they don't have any frontier models except in positive user experience with Imagine and the lowest hallucination rate in the business.

>>16943661

>>
>>16943702
I'm not a jew, so I guess that puts me along the most mentally retarded. I just don't like terrorist states, so I'm glad that the US is trying to remove them. And I'm not American, so I don't have grievances about them going to war. Though it would be nice if Iran managed to do a really nasty attack on Israel before the war is over.
>>
If you would've told me years ago that SLS and Orion will have sent mankind back to the moon before starship even manages to achieve LEO, I would have laughed in your face. Well Shelby is laughing now. I am a fool. We are all fools.
>>
>>16943706
Israel is a terrorist state as much as Iran. Even fully buying into what is argued about Iran, both states kill their own people, are in a religious death cult, and have extreme bloodlust. Attempting to decimate Iran is part of a unilateral plan to cement Israel as a super power in the Middle East and the world at large with their control of the vital trade routes in the region.

It is better for world stability and virtually every other nation on earth that the region has two major powers with Iran and Israel counterbalancing each other. All the conflict with Iran has done is spike global energy/oil prices, and the US is actually least affected by this compared to Asia/Europe. The US can’t do anything else at this point outside of ground invasion which would be political suicide and likely result in economic recession. So all they’ve effectively done is give Iran nothing to lose vis a vis how willing they are to blow up the global economy with their control of the strait and oil and radicalize their populace. Based on Trump’s speech last night, the US strategy is now to force the hand of Asia/Europe by pointing out that they will suffer more than the US economically the longer Iran is still in power. In other words, America is trying to get everyone else to do the dirty work, partially I imagine so the American citizenry doesn’t continue to identify the entire operation as solely a move by Israeli parasites in charge of the US govt to fuck over the US and the rest of the world and install Israel as the ultimate super power in the center of the Silk Road. Supporting this war if you are not jewish amounts to supporting total economic devastation and making your own life worse for literally no reason other than to help the worst people on Earth become ultra powerful. In other words, retarded.

I don't like that stalemate state, either. If one problem gets solved, it'll be easier to understand the existence of the other. Let's be real here. Iran wouldn't ever have the means to destroy Israel even without this war. And there is not a chance the civilized world would ever try to do anything about Israel while Iran and the terror cells it sponsors are at large. If the status quo is Israel not-so-subtly manipulating the West while Iran is killing people all over the West in small batches, then I want the status quo fucking gone.

Using preliminary data from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, scientists have discovered over 11,000 new asteroids. The data were confirmed by the International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center (MPC), making this the largest single batch of asteroid discoveries submitted in the past year. The discoveries were made using data from Rubin's early optimization surveys and offer a powerful preview of the observatory's transformative impact on solar system science.

The submission to MPC comprises approximately one million observations, taken over the span of a month and a half, of over 11,000 new asteroids and more than 80,000 already-known asteroids, including some that had previously been observed but were later "lost" because their orbits were too uncertain to predict their future locations. You can interact with all of Rubin's asteroid discoveries in the Rubin Orbitviewer, which uses real data to provide an intuitive way to explore the structure of our cosmic backyard in three dimensions and in real time.

talking to people irl and looking at social media it seems like 95% of the public falls into 3 categories now
>people who think space exploration is pointless and would rather spend mo money on dem programs or get a tax break
>people who think the space program is fake and would rather spend mo money on dem programs or get a tax break

It's basically always been this way. After Apollo 11, public interest took a nosedive.
Normies just don't know (and more importantly just dont care) about spaceflight. They don't care about the Moon, they don't care about a mars sample return or humans on mars. They don't care about james webb or probes to venus or outer ice giant probes, europa landings, etc. They just don't give a shit

The people complaining about taxes don't realize NASA makes up less than half of a single percent of the federal budget. If someone pays $20,000-$40,000 in taxes in a year around $75 to $150 worth of that would be going to the space program. Anyone with a modicum of self control can recoup that threefold by getting cash back on a credit card and not carrying a balance. People are dumb and dislike things they don't understand.

I think the perception is that unless you are one of these scientists/engineers yourself, it's pointless to waste time trying to understand the research that goes on. The other problem is that we aren't even sure that an FTL engine can ever exist, so everyone knows we are stuck with earth for at least the next three or four hundred years. You put these two facts together and yeah, the average person is going to be focusing more on stuff that actually has an effect on their life.

Those were the days. I honestly like hosted webcasts especially since SpaceX hosts are good at pausing for the callouts, but the net only streams had some extra callouts (and lasted a bit longer) so I synced up the streams to have both going. I've already done it a bit with the views only and full broadcast now, too, but except for the press conferences I don't think the full broadcast has been missing any comms so I'll just put the views only one on for those moments and skip the syncing. Especially since now the Houston commentator is on the views only stream sometimes, too, apparently.

It makes me feel happy that Americans are winning so hard. Good on them.

An unmanned moon lander with something lighter than a capsule on top of course.
Launch it on Vulcan with a Centaur V.
NASA should seriously consider this for another lander option in addition to CLPS

Solar panels with brakes designed for operation under load already would probably just work in 1/6g.
11 kW of surface power landed wherever you want it in addition to the payload.

Freezing the ball until June would be 8 months between tests, of a vehicle that's supposed to do a one hour turn while still on the pad. Almost as bad as another Elon firecracker. There's no good look here.

Didn't he say say this same shit about 4 to 6 weeks ago?

Torque. Why sky divers and figure skaters pull their arms in on landing. And why solar panels deploy afterward.

Has Elon said anything about Artemis 2 directly yet?

It’s less risky at this point, from a valuation standpoint, to just say you have a new variant coming that needs yet another dead year of ground testing for confidence but with great promises ahead; versus going for a launch and even if most things go right you still have a few shortcomings that make uninformed idiots deduct points of speculated value from you

I agree SpaceX is over and Musk has 100% betrayed the cause by IPO, but the previous development method was not working. It was purely done because Musk liked the aesthetic.
SpaceX could not learn much or fix much because the time between flights was short and everything had already been commited to hardware. Integrated test flights should be done once everything is expected to work, specifically to verify that it all works together.
Space Shuttle was a more ambitious design (for its time) than Starship, and worked first time.

Good point! America can learn from Europe's manned space program.

Could you link me to some information about that? I must have misplaced it.

Multi planetary civilization is cancelled because Elon decided to hop on the Line Must Go Up game with "AI" train.
