Senior EEs make the same as junior SWEsLet that sink in
There's a huge difference in terms of subtlety there, however. The highest-paid SWEs and EEs both work in Silicon Valley, but junior SWEs compete against literally anything from third-worlders with CS degrees from the Islamic University of Lahore and the Gayman Catholic University of Manila to guys who took a few lessons on FreeCodeCamp and/or a free course on Coursera, only to end up getting laid off again as soon as a new version of GPT comes out.On the other hand, even though the best-paid EEs work at companies like Nvidia and Intel, the average EE is just a power systems engineer or an industrial controls engineer who lives in a small city in the middle of fuckin nowhere that goes from -20°F in January to 100°F in July and that only gets shitty-ass country/redneck Gospel music (and Regional Mexican music) groups to perform at the local music hall, where the biggest enterainment center is the old bowling alley and the shopping mall, but at least buying a house there is cheap as fuck (or at least cheaper than in God-forsake Commiefornia). So there's your choice: go for SWE only to end up as a MERN webdev with very little job security so you can end up homeless on the streets of San Jose, or go for EE so you can end up living in the most boring place on Earth and work in a shitty-ass, noisy environment where you get to decide which probes, drives, sensors, and breakers need to be used for safety purposes.
