Like you could get the sort of resolution that lets you know what parts of your brain are active and maybe send back bit of vague data too but the applications of that are non existent. If you desire a brain-computer interface why not drill a hole in your skull, it's not like the procedure is particularly painful or medically challenging. Frankly it should be fairly cheap and safe as far as boring a hole goes, installing the electrodes in the brain will be more expensive mostly because it's highly specialized and unnecessary work which allows hospitals to absolutely rake you over the coals with it.
They are called mobile phones and computers. Just because they are not inserted directly into your brain doesn't mean you're not using your brain to control them.

Any useful information will be destroyed by averaging together so many neurons. The only way for it to work, is if the brain rewires itself to fire millions of neurons together to create a signal that can be detected.
