In the book “Physical Geography of the Global Environment 3rd edition” the authors call global warming an “extreme prediction” then proceed to lambast “greenhouse prognostications” and “computer modelers” with the implication that those fields are fake and that geography is the real deal. But in the 5th edition of the same book this section is removed from the text and one of the 2 authors is dead. The 5th edition is what’s used in my school. Why?
Rest of the paragraph
>>16968922>The 5th edition is what’s used in my school. Why?Gee I don't know, maybe it's because it's a newer edition and contains many updates and corrections besides your personal obsession? Maybe the 3rd editions has been out of print for decades? It would be somewhat interesting if they were stubbornly sticking with some older edition instead, but you don't really need to explain why schools update their textbooks to the latest edition.Shouldn't you be asking why the authors/editors removed that paragraph instead?
>>16968930The “Why” refers to my whole post unless you expect me to post why after every single sentence like some really inefficients lines of yanderedev code
>>16968930>Shouldn't you be asking why the authors/editors removed that paragraph instead? It's obvious that he already knows why: it's because the Mossad murdered one of the authors to intimidate the other into conforming with the narrative.
>>16968934I assume assassinating a 79 year old man was not one of their hardest jobs.
>>16968922It's a classic case of an old established guy huffing his own farts. SMBC has that relevant meme about physicists I think but the same applies here quite well. Presumably the author is a reputable and good writer on physical geography or at least was when he wasn't 69 but fails to understand something like climate change, thus he sources his "reporting" from blogs and then wrote as he knew better. He even lambastes his own conclusion in the previous section where he admits that science is advancing rapidly and that he can't quite keep up. The quote is frankly just off topic anecdote to begin with but just blatantly wrong and frankly bit silly which is why it got removed for a more up to date version.
How are those icebergs doing? Have they melted and flooded the world yet?
>>16969793Slowly, yes. Coastal cities around the world are having reduced sand lines
