Fuck chessSo much genius talent was wasted on this game
>>16972409When two top-level engines play each other from the standard starting position, the vast majority of games end in a draw.If both players started, then it would be equal.
chess is not a transferable skill, he was famously paranoid to the point of insanity, so genius for right wing psychos but probably a layabout for normies
>>16972433>>he was famously paranoid to the point of insanity>call out evil Jews>evil Jews sic their government golem on you
>>16972439technically he was of of the jew government golem if you look into it
>>16972441He was Catholic by religion, and he denounced Judaism and the evil genital mutilation it commits.
>>16972409>genius talent>chesslmao, no. Its a game about memorizing as much as possible.
>>16972462show elo
Yep Fuck Chess and Fuck Math. Wasted my life busting my ass in academics math and now live with my parents at 34. I basically just spend all my time studying go now at the pizza parlor with Johnny Nash.
>>16972509Why not just become an actuary or accountant or coder?
>>16972513he probably studied a meme field
>>16972462not really. I started playing half a year ago and was like 450 at the start, after a couple months I was at 650-700 at which I've been stuck for like the last three months. this despite the fact that I continue to do puzzles and continue to watch chess education videos on youtube. here's my most recent game, which I lost. I'm just a brainlet.
>>16972539hold on, I was too brainlet to attach the game
>>16972509>gobased, way more fun than chess.
Make way for the superior medieval war game.
>>16972432There is no proof of this but I think it's likely that with perfect play, all games will end in a draw.
>>16972409is there any experimental proof that chess people are smarter than the rest? Controlling for education background etc...Oh right you can't control intelligence you can only measure how good someone is at a task and infer that he must be good at le abstract intelligence
>>16972409life is for having fun thobeit

MOBAs are cognitively harder than chess.
>>16972780The rest of what? Professional players of go, checkers/draughts, backgammon, scrabble, even poker all have high IQ.
>>16972539>>16972540>Giving up tons of pieces for basically free constantly.Yikes.
Guys, does it upset you that my IQ is 145? Verbal takes me down.In every metric that has a high G correlation, I score to what would be a higher equivalent.I know no science. I never studied math beyond calculus, and I'm lazy. Does it upset you?Picked up League recently. Improved very fast, but realized that it's really hard work, so I've quit that as well.
>>16973178I am the same way, I just know I could be great at something but give up because I don't want to spend the time. There's just no surprise, I want something that would make me doubt myself
>>16973190Life's been too good I guess, years go on and there's never an urgency.
>>16972540You should've attacked that bishop with your knight, pawns are for setting the boundaries of the battlefield and helping storm the kingt. 900 elo
>>16972409A lot of genius talent is wasted on a lot of things. Like theoretical physics for instance.
>>16972409STFU Elolet
>>16973238good tip, thanks. I will try that next time
>pic relIt's almost as if chess is promoted to attract and trick the intellectually capable into dedicating the majority of their time and resources that would otherwise be better spent on whatever their actual discipline is.
>>16973178Why would that bother me? And why do you wish for it to bother me?
>>16972540is this designed to make me angry? Good job
>>16972409maybe you're psyoped into thinking that any fucking genius plays chess to begin with. no true genius would waste their time on a fucking game like magnus or hikaru, we're polymaths and cracked in multiple domains
>>16972409it's a way of life. you just don't understand.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cJxRsA7e2bw&ra=m
>>16973471The only thing that matters is to be at least 2000 elo on chess.comThat means you earn eternal respect and bragging rights, and I imagine it's not hard to maintain that for life with occasional daily games.
>>16972513The programming field doesn't need entry jobs right now (AI meme period), but he can do it; it'll be trivial for him given his learning abilities and skills. It'll be a sad grind in this job climate.
>>16972409You made this thread a week ago already, chesstard looking to gain approval.
>>16973511You will never become a moderator.
>>16972539The levels of chess feel like a cultivation genre. You would crush an ant at 400 ELO and get crushed by a monster who is 1000 ELO who would get crushed by an older monster who is 1300 ELO and so on. Theres like 10 tiers where the previous tier gets utterly demolished by the next tier. Then theres the upper realm (engines) that adds like 5 more tiers on top of the mortal realm (humans). The heavenly demon Magnus Carlsen of the human realm is not even at the level of a newborn in the upper realm. Everyone strives for the great dao (solved game) and enters seclusion (learning lines) to increase their performance.
