I had to take Calc 3 in college for my stats minor and I could have sworn there was some fuckery going on. The first time I took the course, the lecture size was only like 30 people. The proctor was a Chinese grad student who did not speak English and was incredibly difficult to understand. I had to red line the class because it would have killed my GPA. I took the class again, and the lecture hall was easily 150+ people and some white guy teaching it. For some reason this class was incredibly easier and aced every test. We covered the manifolds and geometry, but the questions were insanely easier. We also did no proofs in that second class. Did I get put into the retard/student athlete class? It was incredibly strange to me that I took the same class back to back, and the standards for each class were wildly different. I took the A and never asked questions why.
