Seeking UK electronic music collaborator in/near London. I've always been a fan of electronic musician duos (Bicep, Overmono, Autechre) I think the bouncing ideas off someone else makes me a lot more productive and likewise surrendering my ideas for someone else complete will help me get things done.

I like in the southeast of the UK near London and would like to find someone I can meet up with in the real word and just put together a small project with.

Preferably with Ableton, I can use Logic too, I just feel faster at generating ideas in the piano matrix of Ableton.

Discord: Holsten_

Alternatively drop a protonmail or any other means and I'll get in touch.

What are your favourite electronic albums?

Sorry I'm late getting back to you. I'll give you some links.

There's some tracks I just grabbed off the top of my head.

I'd talk more about what you're into over chat or something. I like the idea of sitting in a room and taking turns providing ideas, resampling, exchanging sounds and generally like I said, bouncing ideas off each-other.

This is an example of Bicep https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-WiBXXrbIg

There's a lot more I can talk about over chats or whatnot. As a disclaimer I'm not someone that's glued to my phone 24/7.

Cheers, mate. I would have added you, but I am not in the UK. I just really miss the electronic music from the '90s and '00s scene, because a lot of what they played in clubs, raves, and video game sound tracks also influenced Japanese games abroad. I am a sucker over what gets played from MTV Amp and Chill Out Zone. As well as what used to be played in Groovera.

Thanks very much for the links! Those are really useful.

For videogame soundtracks, I forgot to mention, Metroid Prime, you might like that series soundtracks.
>>
>>33976042
I heard Metroid Prime's music. Retro Studios wanted to hire Autechre to do their game's music, but they were over ruled by Nintendo, who picked Kenji Yamamoto instead:

DAMN! Didn't know that. Think how good it would have been, just in a different way.

can i ask you about your creative process?
do you know what you want to make before you start putting it into software, or do you "discover" your music as you go? do you hear things you like and try to use those as inspiration? finding inspiration would be my main question.

Sorry I'm late, I rarely check the thread and had things to do. I don't know if I linked above, the Ableton "One Thing" video with those two that take turns adding elements to a track but essentially that's what I want. I don't know what I want going in but if this is how we operate it probably won't have too much a "genre-focused" sound.

I'm bad at finishing thing because I work a lot in the Session View, I like working with people who operate more in the arrangement view because more tends to get done in those sessions.

Original poster back,

Just stating, sometimes I dip in and out of logging onto discord. I have a life with complications. I do try and get back to people every few days. I like hearing from people, but I'm more of a longform type of guy.

why does your co-writer have to be based in the UK?
Aren't you guys just gonna swap wav files onto each other's Drop Boxes? Or are you looking for IRL colabs only???
