After coming up with a nickname to identify yourself, introduce your new identity!

Include anything you want here are a few suggestions:.
Type of requests and recording you'd like to perform.
Bait your post an example of your voice.
If you have previous recordings, showcase them to demonstrate what you're willing to record.

Expectations: many listeners lurk without commenting! It is not uncommon for someone to admire you without making themselves know. This is fine. Try not to worry about being heard, hang around, and have some fun.

Threads have been slow recently.
There's people that like slice-of-life as fantasy that you'd fit.
"Perfect boyfriend" is difficult in its own right and doesn't require anything lewd, rash, or overtly exposing.

I don't have the formula myself. I'd imagine it's like taking on an embodiment that then paints the world in pastels? Something for comfort.

Thick skin required for whatever you choose. If you're unable to improv then I may find time to write something.

As for being gifted a nickname? There isn't much of a rite. It would be hard to restart with a new name if it's gifted, I think. Never thought of it.

I'm assuming you're wanting performer oriented feedback as opposed to interpersonal?
>>

i am up for whatever may fit me

>Thick skin required for whatever you choose
if worst comes to worst i can just disappear

>If you're unable to improv then I may find time to write something
i am generally a bit bad at improv so at least at the start that would be appreciated

>I'm assuming you're wanting performer oriented feedback as opposed to interpersonal?
yeah, but i am mostly trying to see how this goes

This is 10 minutes long, I think I got a bit in the weeds with the FAQ but I would love a critique and just a rough idea what I would suit. I'm very new to this but I feel I have a unique enough voice that I could be useful to some people.

No obligation.

This hobby is a fun pet project. I don't know any swingers/polyam's but they float around, I think?

As for as suitability? It's chicken or the egg sometimes. Like, you sound fresh (understandably!) making it hard to say what you'll end up being confident in.

Actually, you might appreciate teacher/student dynamics.
I "found" this:
https://pastebin.com/m01hhW4s
Which seems to be a narrative.

I can probably write for sadism, maybe. (I will take my time with the idea.) If not I'll ponder suitable reading material to share? No obligations, of course.

It's a fun hobby to experiment with! It can be difficult to find subject matter people will appreciate.

Thankyou, I gave that script a go! Apologies for the background noise as my puppy decided to come see why I was talking to myself.

For me I really don't mind what I do, I'm open to trying anything just for fun. For now just learning to read from a script while adding the right inflections is new to me.

This script is fairly approachable.
I wrote a quick and dirty guide to voice proximity for you
https://pastes.psstaudio.com/post/fdabf8af1d84483b89c1ff86e4d7fa1e

As for the choice in script. I'll see if i can find a script with heavy directing. A writing practice that is somewhat frowned upon because some VA's feel like they don't have room to be creative.
>>
>>34835237
You're actually so good at giving critiques, could you give me a script you'd consider to have challenging acting? I'd love to go have you give me a breakdown

I wish I could sing but I hear my voice and besides being practically tone deaf (retarded) I just don't even know if my voice would be any good even if it was in key.

Would I waste my time getting a coach OR what part of my voice could probably be worked on?

Thankyou for this, someone said thumb to pinky was a good distance so I'm going to try that out.

As for scripts I don't know what I don't know if that makes sense? I'd like to try anything until I know what I really enjoy.

Here's just a silly little ramble from this morning. I've never done one before and it felt weird just talking to myself with no one to bounce ideas off. Hope the quality is a bit better.

>>34835457
Uuuuuuh, that's a hard one. Mostly because difficulty depends. How well writer and VA meshes is important, I suppose. I guess doing any script justice is good enough. A beneficial challenge would be attempting a popular script and still slipping by unnoticed.

That is my challenge for you!

>>34835715
I don't have the ear for tones. But singing is appreciated here! I would critique but singing is out of my depth.

>>34836640
Maybe? I'm sure people still lurk. Discord has some people and the sister thread gets its own type of attention.

>>34837385
I do suggest learning improv. It's all "yes and". A bit tough at first, but once you push through the initial reluctance and awkward stage, then you gain your sea legs.
I do understand that feeling well, talking to yourself or nobody. What are you supposed to do? Actually? Huh? Become an autoerotic?

>>34840257
Could you provide the writing? It's good and cosy.
I'm unsure if you'd be satisfied with simple praise.

Since you asked for critique, drink water.
If you're dehydrated or thirsty, it's hard to prevent your lips from producing sibilant noise.

Other than tone, there's also speed and pacing. adding emotion to individual words for emphasis. There's a lot to play with. You can influence the pacing with add dramatic pauses and sayingthingsreallyfast, for example. Keeping the listener mentally engaged and throwing them off is a big part of keeping them listening or from getting distracted.

For what you're probably working with I think you did good. Voice was full, little background noise, spoke clearly. Small things add up and sometimes people will skip ahead to that and really only anyone can ask you for.

"The nail that sticks out gets the hammer", or whatever. With art critique, you find out that if you ask to be judged then its easy to find fault. That's a good idea for rivalry, I guess. Blunt words. It's easier to talk to someone you dislike.

I think the original writer would appreciate the fill more. Those hidden pastes, that take some digging to find, are interesting to scavenge through.

The problem has become, for this give a book - take a book. That everyone forgot to return their books!

You can make excellent work for 1 person and look at those growing audiences. For your own sanity, I suggest making the distinction of the talents. The skill to grow an audience fools many people into believing that means they have talent.

--------------
I'm going to use this request as an example;
>>34843279
This is a difficult challenge if you're not slavic or have a slavic accent. Can you play the part successfully? Fool a native Russian speaker? The stakes are the embarrassment of being called out for a poor performance.

--------------
I'll provide another request of my own.
Please remember that requests pile up while you're not actually looking and slip you by quickly. It is difficult to take anyone seriously if you ignore unfavorable requests.
Here:
>>34826644

"
For this reason I hate zerg players.
They may not pilot bug but they operate like mindless, hive like organisms.
Using swarm tactics to achieve their goals. The lousy pests.
I will need to construct magnificent machines to stamp them out.
I want to crush their souls, I want their lying teeth and tongues to be gripped and pulled out by various metal tools and instruments.

---------------
Please remember that this *Thing* signed up for this.
To be digested by the hive and its queen. Offering its soul and intelligence to a single entity.
This is not an individual. So when you look upon the brute instruments of truth,
do not feel guilty. They have already signed away their bodies and individual narratives.
The biological organism you see has the mannerisms and acting of a human. It is remarkable.

But what of the insides? Even that is designed to fool individuals who have integrity.
It is my job and yours to dissect these creatures. Relentlessly probe for their weak points.
Then, without empathy, for they have abused and weaponized this - human empathy - far too long. You are to gauge out their eyes and re appropriate their own vision against them.

Pluck out the eye and turn it to face them. Leaving the stringy nerves intact with the brain. Then take your knife of truth and peel open the abdomen. Show it to them. The various biological differences, mere copies of ourselves.
Then, show them how we dispose of their material selves.
Make a point to include the mess. Show them how difficult and pointless it is to absorb the blood.
You show them that cleaning becomes an act of smearing the excess red mush around on the floor.
Show them how futile humanizing acts and ceremonies are for them.
