Now that the dust has settled, was it based or cringe?Btw i never realized this, but the away goal rule had been in used since 1965. I thought it was a recent thing but no, it was half a century ago.
>>154779067That image doesn't even make sense.
>>154779105What doesnt make sense?
>>154779067I am glad they removed away goals.
>>154779464All goals should be treated equally
away goal rule was great and a better idea than adding another extra time to an already oversaturated schedule and then a penalty-taking lottery minigameit's harder to score away than at homego look at scoring records of teams home vs. away, for all you retards who don't believe in HFA saying all goals are equal
Only retards are glad they removed away goals.
>>154779464Yeah i wanted to get rid of it too. I didnt think it was fair that 1 team shd go through when the score is a tie. And i still think that. But i have to admit, something was lost when away goal was removed. It was tension. Games used to b incredibly tense, since 1 goal could count double. Now its much more you score 1, we score 1. Which can b fun. But imo not as thrilling to watch as when away goal was in effect.
>>154779138Team B should be listed first in the second lines.
>>154779509>penalty-taking lotteryYou never kicked a ball in your life
I liked away goals, always made things more tense and tactical since a 2-1 loss away could be a win on away goalsThink of shit like a team losses the first game 1-0 then they're up 2-0 at home for the 2nd leg, out of nowhere the away team score so it's 2-2 but they're winning on away goals and the home team have to go all out to win 3-1, now it's just extra time to squeeze those ads in
>>154779543>>154779542>>154782614>it made matches goodLet's stop it with this retardedness of pretending that every match was kino. It turned them all into semen slurpers.
>>154783051You went from "it made matches good" to "it made every single match kino" and we're the ones who are retarded?
>>154779067It's based because it means penalties happen less often
Homefield advantage means absolutely nothing I am glad it is gone
>>154783289ESL, what is your point?
Bump
>>154779138>one_fucking_job.pngHome team is ALWAYS listed 1st.Here we have Team A playing 4 home games in an 'away goals rule' graphic.
>>154779509The ideas that penalty shoot-outs are a lottery is a cope for the losing team. You can practice the technique of striking the ball, your goalie can study which way the opposition players are likely to aim, and while the pressure of a shootout is not something you can replicate on the training ground, you do gain experience from being involved in multiple shootouts over the years that can assist you on that front.
>>154779067>>154789626What do you get out of posting retarded engagement bait on 4chan? You're not even getting ad revenue
I always hated it
>>154789824This. Ive no idea why ppl dont like penalties. The games gotta be settled somehow. N the ppl who dont like them always come up with even more ridiculous suggestions like removing players every 5 minutes lmao>>154789864How is this bait? Its a genuine point of discussion.
It was the addition of an arbitrary rule not contained within the Laws of Football and therefore evil and vile no matter how entertaining you thought it was.
>>154789900>How is this bait? Its a genuine point of discussion.Look at the fucking image you posted, you braindead cretin.Example 1 should be written as such:>Team A 4 - 1 Team B>Team B 3 - 0 Team ATherefore Team B wins 4 - 4 on away goals (1 > 0).Example 2 should be written as below:>Team A 2 - 1 Team B>Team B 3 - 2 Team ATeam A wins 4 - 4 on away goals (2 > 1).Whoever created that image is a total fucking retard. Like you.
>>154790343I think whats retarded is caring so much about random image off google whilst ignoring actual point of the threadImagine being angry over stuff like this. I couldnt understand it
>>154789900I usually turn off the game if it ends in penalties. It doesn't give me any excitement at all. I walk away and then I look at the result 20 minutes later. I would much rather watch them play.
>>154790433It shows you don't actually know what the away goals rule is. You even said in your first reply to the thread.
>>154779067away goal rule was absolutely based
That's one of the worst images I've ever seen that is supposed to be educational
there was always something unjustified about the following scenario:1st leg: Team A 1-0 Team B2nd leg: 89 minutes 59 seconds Team B 2-0 Team A2nd leg: 90 minutes Team B 2-1 Team ATeam A wins on away goalsit just felt like Team B had not only secured a semi-decent only-one-goal defeat in the 1st leg, they had done twice as good in the 2nd leg until the last second, then somewhat arbitrarily lost for 1 second out of 3 hours of football
>>154790736wut, late goals shouldn't count?
>>154790464>usually turn off the game if it ends in penalties. It doesn't give me any excitement at allSkill issue>I would much rather watch them play. You akready watched them play retard
>>154789670not in the states (tee hee!) New York / Chicago is new york AT chicago. our dates are weird too, but that mKes sense. "when is your wedding?" no one says "the fifth of june" you say june fifth thats why 6/5/2026 not 5/6/2026. and fahrenheit is basically the survivable range temperatures. below 0 or above 100 and youre gonna die
>>154790795Correct, added time goals shouldn't count. Added time shouldn't be played.
Although i kinda miss away goals, it did have a run of half a century to give us many tense moments. I guess its only fair to give this new format a few years to see if it can also produce amazing matches. Though like i said, it very much seems to b a u score 1 we score 1 kinda thing so far.
