https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2026/05/22/cup-series-steve-odonnell-kyle-busch-charlotte-motor-speedway/Richard Childress Racing announced Friday the indefinite use of the No. 33 in place of the No. 8 for its second NASCAR Cup Series entry. The change comes a day after the tragic death of driver and icon Kyle Busch, who piloted the No. 8 Chevrolet for RCR since the start of the 2023 season. Busch, 41, died Thursday after a severe illness led to hospitalization.RCR announced it will save the No. 8 designation for Busch’s 11-year-old son, Brexton, whenever he advances to NASCAR.“Kyle Busch was instrumental in the design of RCR’s stylized No. 8 and it has become synonymous with Kyle and an important symbol for his fans and the NASCAR industry,” RCR said in a team statement. “No one can carry it forward to the level that he did. The No. 8 is reserved and ready for Brexton Busch when he is ready to go NASCAR racing.”NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series regular Austin Hill will compete in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 in the No. 33 Chevrolet in place of Busch.I know its basically already "retired" but if Joe Gibbs still has the rights for it he'd park it eternally like the 3 SHOULD HAVE BEEN fuck i hate boomers
I try to like road track racing. I try to like open wheel racing. The ambience and aesthetic of formula 1 at a handful of their tracks is unmatched. Their in-car camera feeds are unmatched. But I’ll be damned if my gut instinct does not tell me that these stupid refrigerators with wheels running ten thousand laps of roundy rounds aren’t a better racing product. It’s ridiculous.
>>154802321There was a time I was watching every Motorsport under the sun. I’ve pared it down to nascar (often just xfinity series) and the GOOD endurance races like N24 and superGT when I can catch it. Indycar went to shit, f1 blows, and WEC is a pay to BOPwin slopfest in heavy LMP2 cars. Imsa race control and broadcasting is just too fucking retarded to endure. I’ll probably keep watching all the 24h races and some of the 12s but idk everything is in this mid as fuck state rnBut Nur was awesome and NOAPS puts on a good weekly show MotoGP is fine but it’s always on at wack times even for me
a NASCAR truck race after dinner will be weird in a good way ngl, also>inb4 muh murrica>inb4 muh army>inb4 muh godcringe af>>154796420>In loving memory of Kyle Busch, 1985–2026F
Is this truck race gonna happen?

>>154804558meh
>>154804558i couldnt even sleep
Driver media sessions have started. Gonna be a lot of sad dudes
>>154805313>CAN YOU TELL US YOUR FAVORITE KYLE MOMENT?!?!? *rushes to put mic and phone in face* >CAN YOU ELABORATE ON YOUR FINAL INTERACTION WITH KYLE *soullessly repositions to ask the same question again*>WHEN YOU GOT THE NEWS HOW DID YOU FEEL?!?*lifelessly reports* >WILL SUNDAYS RACE BE HARD FOR YOU TO FOCUS?!?*checks notebook for next grifting question*>NOW THAT THE EIGHT IS RETIRED WILL THE 33 BE THE PRIMARY NUMBER?! *rubs hands like a subhuman piece of shit*>RICHARD! RICHARD! YOUVE HAD A DRIVER DIE MID SEASON BEFORE, HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT?!What this whole situation has reminded me is how soulless the media and virtue signaling fans really are. Oh so Kyle Busch’s death is what made you stop acting like a total fucking asshole? Yeah buddy I’m sure his death rattled you as a fan so deeply you changed your entire life.
Any idea if the orap race will happen?if not imma watch gplaps running the 93 indy 500 on icr1
>>154806128over/under on how many years in the can that doctor who gave him a "shot" after watkins glen is going to get
>>154806128What a shitty way to go
>>154806209I really wonder what that shot would be. Either way he never should've been allowed to drive if he was diagnosed with Pneumonia. Feels like a doctor fucked something up cause its not like doctors dont know the symptoms for it and such.
>>154807248Steroid shots are common because they reduce inflammation and can improve breathing, but the downside is if there's an underlying infection it reduces your body's ability to fight it. He shouldn't have been given a shot without being checked out first. A simple chest x-ray can show infections and fluid build up.
could dude wipes have prevented sepsis
completely avoidable death if he sought medical attention earlier.Brittany Murphy died in a similar way at 32.
>>154806128Damn, same thing that took my dad. I totally understand how easy it is to think it's nothing too serious, and then it suddenly comes out of nowhere.
