I do admit that I think the scoring rule for this is stupid. If they return a blocked kick it should could for the full 6. Or at least make it UFL by making it "6 plus however many points the opposing team was going for" so, in this case they'd get 7. Or, if the kick returned on a 2 or 3 point conversion attempt, it should be 8 or 9 points for the team that blocked it and ran it back to their endzone respectively.

Nobody wants to see "NFL Lite". The magic of the XFL was in its fans and how it was basically counter NFL. They embraced fan bullshit and memes, they had rules that made the game more fun and the teams actually played into that with the mindset that the XFL was actually better than the NFL, more exciting than the NFL and more kino than the NFL despite not having the NFL talent (and they were right). Fast forward to now with the UFL and, even though they've tone down the rhetoric a little bit, it became "these are guys trying to get back in the NFL" and "let's all treat UFL like an NFL D-League". I will continue to stand on this.

Although, more recently the horrible way to end that Louisville/Storm game early in the season when momentum was relatively high for the two new teams likely turned people off who either never came back or started watching more sparingly. That and, honestly, UFL is competing with other sports people may prefer to watch instead too.
