It's always frustrating to be a fan who actually enjoys football, who wants to talk about football whenever Arsenal lose. It's clear 90% of opinions you see online postmatch are from people who didnt actually watch the game
>>154944073We all saw you bottle it against West Ham and concede in injury time. Getting bailed out by refball doesn't change that. Now you have choked on pens on the biggest stage of all.Eternal bottlers.Eternal banter club.
>>154944973We are still Champions of England, and we are going to start a dominance that will make Pep's reign of terror feel short by comparison(We will also win the CL in two-three years anyway)

Thanks for making a proper thread. That other one was triggering my autism. It’s really funny to see people sperging out but remember it was only pens. We made them look mediocre and we will be back even stronger. We will win it. Stay mad you ABA white niggers. I’m very proud of my players even though some have to go.Have a great Sunday laddys.Oh and would you believe? Paris was on fire again
Gm bros. Heading out to the parade right now, the atmosphere is surprisingly good considering what happened. I think I spotted the big booba fan from that one gif at the Harlow train station
>>154945458Have a good time anon.
>>154944073People were talking about us getting humiliated 4-0 and it ended up in a penalty shoot out. The missed pens were on >us as well.I think playing so defensively past a certain point wasn't needed but it's all done now. It was a good run and >we show steady progress like in the League plus these missed finals build character (combined with winning the League).Just enjoy the next months without football like someone said in the last thread, it was a very exhausting season.
Something crazy just happened. I was coming home from watching the Arsenal game when a guy on a bike stopped in front of me, pulled out a gun, and told me to hand over my phone. Just as I accepted my fate, a ball came out of nowhere and hit his head. He collapsed on the spot. I’m hearing it was Gabriel’s penalty.
I thought we were going to lose 4-0, somehow I don't feel very disappointed because I never actually believed we would win.
>>154945523Enough
>>154945661I thought it was going to be 2-1 either way, which is what PSG effectively won by. Arsenal probably would have won if not for the penalty, but meh.
>>154945685Yeah but the penalty conceded went how everyone thought, that mosquito wouldn't be able to handle Kvaratskhelia for 90 minutes.
Anyone else at the parade now? I'm on Holloway road right next to Greggs
>>154945700Hope he learns from his mistake. He didn’t play bad and all kvra did apart from that nice one-two was win corners or cut inside like a low iq slav and allow us to set up shop. At one nil up I couldn’t believe my eyes, but yea to pull that off for 85 minutes after scoring was gonna be big feat and this is where things have to change in some way next season.Shout out to our left flank too where they tried and poked and prodded and swapped players around and couldn’t get past my cartel member and his grey helper(the biggest real niggas in the world)
>"Champions of Europe you'll never sing that!"I asked AI: Has Arsenal ever won a European trophy?"It replied:Yes, Arsenal has won two European trophies in their history. The two continental honors are:Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (1970): The precursor to the modern UEFA Europa League. Arsenal defeated Anderlecht in the final.UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (1994): Arsenal beat the Italian side Parma 1-0 in Copenhagen, with Alan Smith scoring the winning goalWhy is our history & heritage denied & maliciously altered to make it look like we've never won a damn thing in Europe? How the hell are Palace, West Ham & these Confederations League babies ahead of us in the pecking order?
>>154945911Get to the tollington lad and have beer
Why did saka remain on the pitch? He should have been subbed in the first half. He was absolutely atrocious. Your 350k star boy for you. His attitude stank all game too. He looked pissed off. Wasn't there to double up with mosquera which led to a mistake. Terminate the little cunts contract right now. He's bee dreadful all season and he's a liability. Can't hold up play, can't dribble successfully. Looked slow compared to other players. He's completely washed.Arteta is to blame for making changes to late. If saka wants to be stroppy, show terrible body language, get him off early. He's been subbed in the first half before for similar behaviour. Arteta fucked up.
>>154945952Sorry mate but I got a great spot not going to give it away
Watched with my dad who hasn't followed the team for years. We had a good experience as a whole but he said the game was painful and arsenal's playstyle was far too risky. I said it worked out often all season, but all it takes is one mistake. They need to really stop this meme. Try and get 2 goals and then sit in a low block. Really intense 30 minutes, they often get a first goal early so why not go for the second in the same manner? Their pressing was great, lured psg into traps, players made decent passes, I think a second would have come. But no let's sit back give them all the possession for 85 minutes and hope no one makes a mistake. I can appreciate it does work, but it's too risky for a CL final. We said it ITT all season and in the most important game, exactly what we feared happened. Don't want to see low blocks after an early goal next season. They defended well in transitions near the end and showed more threat. Can't help but feel it was a squandered opportunity. Also, do not let black british players near the penalty spot. Line up every white player before them. Eze's little smirk after missing sums him up.
actually laughing stock of the sporting worldkekdeserved
arteta won the league dispite himself. he just has so many freaking flaws. how do you setup like that against psg.. he played them like they were prime barca or byern but even the team who beat them never setup this defensively... our captain ødegaard the midfield maestro with 6 passes in 65 minutes ...
>>154946107>do not let black british players near the penalty spotonly black people you allow on the penalty spot are those who grew up in africa. your drogbas your eto's your yaya toures.
>sign madueke for 50 mill>he is SHIT>so shit he wont even take a penalty and lets the cb do it insteadlmao
>>154946300Gabriel has seniority, if he wants a pen he will get one
>Torino fans here.Arsenal Is historical Club. Two cups can't buy history.
lollmao
>>154946288Dembele put one away. Real issue with the black british players on the spot. Gabby was a fucking catastrophe with his pen. I was sure it'd go in. Why can't they score these? Hit the ball into the net on either side. As long as you're on target you're very likely to score. Trying to roof it or tuck it right in the corner with no speed on it? Just awful penalties.
champions of Europe you’ll never sing that!
Great atmosphere only downside is those fucking vuvuzelas
>>154946372Exactly, missing the target off a penalty is criminal. Just keep it low, left or right side and put your foot through it. And if the keeper makes a million-to-one save nobody is gonna hate you for it.
>>154946410Looking round I feel like I got really lucky getting my champions shirt delivered last Thursday
>>154946410Have a great time m8.
>>154946428I knew caveman gyokeres would score, easy. Rice I was nervous but trusted him because he's level headed. Martinelli I didn't trust but he did well. Eze I just knew, he was dwelling before putting the ball down, then the run up was game over, that stutter everyone knew what was coming. As I said though, Gabby was a big disappointment. I see him as level headed and smart. Hit the target, on the left or the right, and it almost certainly goes in. Zubi and Hincapie I think both score. They need to leave out black british players on pens. Be pragmatic. They are not historically reliable. Worst part is Raya saved a pen and if it went on a bit longer, I'm sure he'd have won it. Still cannot forgive the match management from arteta though, numerous players needed to come off much earlier. Saka needed to be subbed by 30 minutes because he fucking stank.
>>154946452Cheers lad>>154946449You absolutely did
>>154946473>Gabby was a big disappointment. I see him as level headed and smartwhat? hes a hothead through and through. a passion merchant and an elite CB? yes. calm? no. hes very emotional. The real telling thing is this. Mikel Arteta made two summer signings in Zubimendi and Madueke, he was the one who wanted these two, they are a CM and a Winger, and none of them volunteered to take the 5th penalty ahead of a centerback. That is the truth.
>>154946511Is there not a set list of player taking the pens? I would have thought arteta would have had the line up of player and when they'd take the pens. Genuinely think they needed Raya to take the pen. I can see him blasting it to one of the sides with power and the keeper having no chance. I'm sure it's a touch stressful for him but who cares, he seems to thrive on pressure and scoring a pen as a keeper against the other keeper is a mindgame. Especially if you've saved one. This is worse than john terry's penalty miss, at least he slipped. 2 of the players missed the target entirely. It's almost a metaphor for how the team has been all season. No where near clinical enough when presented with chances. Prem should have been won as city but Havertz missed sitters. Madueke, eze, saka, martinelli, trossard have been generally poor all season. Needs a complete switch up with the attacking players. Havertz is clearly a big game player but that is not acceptable, do that in small games too, no excuse.
Thank goodness we won the league, otherwise I might have ended it all after last night.
I am asking here again. What was the plan for that game?If it was taking it to penalty shoot-out, why weren't the pens trained for? Missing two? Come the fuck on.Why didn't >we play like against Buyern?Harambal is only good when it works. PSG were absolutely beatable, virtually zero threat. Funny, that Assna ended up even worse.
>>154946562Arteta is terrible at attacking phases and signings of attacking players. It is a madness how hes the complete opposite of Wenger who was in turn terrible at defense and keepers but atleast he had no money. Arteta keeps spending on shit and hopefully now Berta can stop him fully if not its gonna be a looong season if the signings miss.Need elite quality of the highest order asap no matter the price. Caicedo, Olise, Yildiz, Osihmen, Watkins get some players in to help us and take attack to the next level.
>>154946563might be the only reason I don't feel very disappointed. the feeling of losing this final is 0.01% of the feeling compared to be what could have been if we choked the league to city.
Arteta went full coward mode again. The dude just has no balls in these games PSG looked scared shitless eveytime we had the ball in a decent transition. Keeper was off it. Should have peppered them with shots and direct play. Arteta treated PSG like they were 2009 barca or 2012 bayern WTF dude just play a medium low block, compact and be very direct and go for it in attack with quick shots released. you have freaking Raya, Saliba, Gabriel and Rice to stop any countery the few transitions you give up doing this will still be handled
>>154945930>Hope he learns from his mistake.Farteta learning is a monkey paw case.He will rely on fortifying the goal even more, killing the game even more, conceding even less and taking even less risks. Removing even more joy (if there's any left still) out of watching those games. He learned jack all between last PSG game and this one (other than MORE busparking bullshit), so...

>>154946627Started extremely well, got a fast goal. That was a sign you can score against them, as if the bayern game wasn't a sign it itself. Get an early goal after really good positive smart play, push for a second then you can park the bus like a bitch. Arsenal had at least 3 goals in that game if they tried for them. Instead you give them the ball for 80 minutes and then you put it down to whether you'll make a mistake or not. And this time they did. I'll need to rewatch, but saka and mosquera doubled up on their number 7 because he's the best in the world. He was hopeless and drifted from position all game to find an opening. Why was saka not back with mosquera at that point? Because the best dribbler in the world is getting past his man eventually, but with two it's defendable. Saka needed to be there to support mosquera. Saka's attitude was foul all game. He looked frustrated, jaded, angry, defeated all game. He was slow, didn't have the acceleration, terrible with hold up, only one successful cross. It was a tragic performance. As I've said he needed to come off after 30 minutes. He is disgraceful, the highest paid player at the team btw.
>>154946676I thought brexit means brexit
Noticed that the team focused any attack down the left and centre instead of right, often pinging the ball more centrally when they were attacking. Consistently there was no one there. Why did the RW not drift far more centrally after a few of these failed flick ons? Each time the ball was wasted yet saka and mandookie failed to drift centrally in anticipation. It was agonising to watch. Such a waste of play.

Especially Rice will be fucked.agreed. all arteta had to do was tell his guys to hold the ball a bit before go direct when you had it. and then defend as nromal. but send a chance their way every 5 minutes or so it looke ddangerous everytime. lump it to havertz and surround him with runners like martinelli

Not to mention their terrible record at playing at Wembley recently)Spurs are the middleground since their domestic & european records are formidable but since they stacked up FA Cups & League Cups their League records are not that greatArsenal are great domestically in League & FA Cups but they had to be nerfed in League Cups while their european records are so-so
>>154947037extreme cope. The only thing that can screw arsenal from a dynasty next 2 years is themselves this transfer window. I am super bullish on Arsenal next 2 years IF they get this summer right.Squad that will be kept is still elite.GK: Raya, KepaDefenders: Saliba, Gabriel, Mosq, Hincapie, Timber, Cala.Midfielders: Rice, Eze, Skelly, Merino, Attackers: Saka, Nelli, Gyok. The real question is what signings they will make they need some real firepower. Osihmen, Bellingham, Olise, Kvara, Yildiz, Caicedo, Cucurella. This is the type of signing Arsenal have to make to take the next steps.
>>154947037
>>154947012Norway is right though. With a defensive tactic like that after scoring a single goal, all it takes is one mistake to bring the game level. Which happened. And then when the game opened up again, they didn't get any good quality chances. If they continued the early momentum they could have got a goal, corner chances, free kicks, something from open play etc. Then your low block will actually be effective because 1 mistake kind of sucks, but two is extremely unlikely. If they were getting good chances in the transition when arsenal opened up near the end, you could argue it'd be better to sit back and just take that risk. In the end the mistake came and that's all it was. There was no excellent open play from psg. It was a high risk strategy from arteta. Chase the second in the first half and close the game because they weren't very dangerous on attack regardless if it was a low block or the high press direct football from arsenal.Add to that arteta didn't pull off players earlier, didn't sub saka in the first half because he was having a stinker. This lays on his shoulders. The strategy was not good enough.
>>154947103It's just a prank post from a liversissy.
You have to account for players not having a perfect game especially in the CL final. It was a terrible strategy that barely worked against brighton for god sake. It's low risk football, except it's actually very high risk.

really good game yesterday. outside of hopeful longshots and a couple instances of individual skill (mosq pen) arsenal completely shut down psg. tactically that was probably arsenals best chance of winning. if havertz put away his second chance right before halftime it wouldve genuinely been over. genuinely just lost a coin flip this time. all great sides go through a tough CL final loss before winning it. a lot to be optimistic about. maybe arsenal will play wengerball again in the future with some smart signings and selling odegaard and saka will be a great start to doing that

There is very little to boast about. Thought the referee was excellent last night and hopefully we’ll see a bit more of that in the league next year, time wasting is not on. I did find arsenals representation as the best of the premier league a bit foul as an Englishman. Was it the lowest possession and shots on target on record for a champions league final? Saw that somewhere. I certainly hope now Arteta has managed to get a PL trophy by any means necessary he will pivot to trying to coach decent football next year.

A draw in a knockout game where you have limited time and limited subs is horrendous. Especially if you have full knowledge that your players have played like 2000 odd more minutes than all of their players. It's not just stupid, it's suicidal. Going with that strategy in the ultimate knock out game was plain fucking retarded from Arteta. And that's not just hindsight speaking either. >>154948432>Gabriel strikes the ball there's a freaking whistle being blown! That was happening throughout the whole game. Someone from PSG fans kept blowing their whistle over and over.

>>154948544Eh, we'll have to agree to disagree. I think suddenly taking the hand break off, against a team as good going forward as PSG, would have been the crazy move. I know we've hated the fine margins BS this season but I think it was probably the better choice than, "Nah, we can beat them at their own game." I'm not saying we couldn't have played better last night, but PSG will be thinking they were hardly playing their best either.

>>154948664>I think suddenly taking the hand break off,I'm honestly getting sick of people saying this. It's not black and white. It's not the most abject fucking cowardball or balls to walls nonstop attacking. A balance is 100% possible. The way >we play before getting a goal and after getting a goal is night and day. The entire system changes, the priority changes, the set up, the positioning, the runs, literally everything. But for some fucking unfathomable reason, after conceding a goal, >we seem incapable of going back to playing like >we did before getting a goal. The priorities still seem to be "don't concede" rather than "score one". And again, it's not "suddenly" because like I keep saying, we've seen over and over how this tactic can fail spectacularly against even the most dog shit of teams and you're left with egg on your face. And to do that in a match where there is no second leg or no 30 something games to make up the difference is fucking brain dead man.
>>154948648Fucking subhumans.
>>154948052Thank fucking god assuming he's right. That's 100m for a LW and a CM and then a spare 50m for a back up rightback. Assuming they sell White and Martinelli who both have solid interest that's probably 80m bare minimum. Massive season for the merch, prize money, TV revenue. Could be looking at a Rodgers, Livramento and then possible Tonali. CM position is a bit meh, because they have MLS who's been like a new signing but he isn't a Rice regen, so can't do the 6. That's where Tonali makes more sense. Rice really needs a rest early next season for a month or two, if they get a solid CM in I can see him missing the first month or two, so he should. I don't think Norgard is bad though, but I guess Arteta has made up his mind. I would use him more against weaker sides where defence isn't so important, given the league is already won this season. They need to play for the CL final next year, and rest some of the key players a little more on the run in. Then post Feb really smash the league games with strong line ups and break the April curse.

Disgusting people, especially Carragher. He wrote a column a few months ago, if you remember, about how so-called "neutrals" are rooting for Manchester City because>arsenal is...LE BADdespite that, Manchester City has 115 charges and stole two well-deserved Premier Leagues from Liverpool. In those same Premier League seasons, "neutrals" rooted for Manchester City, and I remember how "neutrals" wanted the 2019/20 Premier League to be declared null and void because>liverpool is...LE BADbut he does not mention that, does he?Disingenuous subhuman scouser filth. For somebody that seethed about Qatar hosting the World Cup, faggot rights, Henderson going to Saudi Arabia and sportswashing, I see him repetitively endorsing that very sportswashing thing again and again. 2023, 2025 and 2026.This is what Enrique had to say about the final.>"They scored a lucky action... after that it was pressure for them!"Sore winner, much?>""We suffered a lot, we played against strong teams in Europe and we deserved to win this trophy.">"SUFFERED A LOT"Playing 2000 minutes, cruising to the league title and resting your players, that's suffering. Volumes.Nasser:>“The best football won... I'm so happy and proud of my team.”Literal whos>“Luis Enrique has adapted his style and created something refreshing on the eye, something every neutral enjoys watching.”>“The hate-watchers, the Spurs fans, the Chelsea fans... incredible scenes.”And these sports media accounts post the Mbappé gimmicks. Nice football discourse you got there when the mainstream media engage in that sort of behaviour.Arsenal FC has earned my sympathies.
>>154949142There's definitely a lot of jealousy because objectively we're in a very good position even if losing the CL final did sting. That is exactly how this country is run. They are unworthy of their positions. There are good pundits out there but they don't hold the line. The image is highlighting the passes, nothing to do with xG or xA. 50% pass accuracy and the majority of them were simple passes. 67% accuracy in his own half, so he gave the ball away once in his own half. Sure it happens, but having had so few passes, mostly simple passes you'd hope they'd at least be accurate. His dribbling was shit, he was being bullied off the ball, he looked slow when he was running. Only good sign was the cross, but it was low and in front of the keeper, so it was shit. Maybe gyokeres could have run in sooner, who knows. He was disgraceful for the highest paid player in the team, as he has been for the majority of the season. A liability yesterday. >>154945700>Yeah but the penalty conceded went how everyone thought, that mosquito wouldn't be able to handle Kvaratskhelia for 90 minutes. This, I don't get it. I know Arteta had to make a difficult choice of who to play at right back. And Mosquera was put in a tough position, playing out-of-position against possibly the best player in the world. All things considered, Arteta took a gamble and Mosquera did well enough in the first half (got beat by Nuno Mendes once for what should've been PSG's first goal, but Hincapie + defense had an insane game and bailed him out). That said, Arteta gambled starting Mosquera in that position, and instead of subbing him at half he doubles down and starts him in the second half. Why? You got a nice goalless first half out of him, but do you really want to take that gamble again in the second half? Everyone saw this coming, everyone knew right back would be where Arsenal would get beat. So it felt like petulance from Arteta to be like, "Look at me, I was right! And I'm starting Mosquera again in the second half, fuck you!" sort of thing. And then he's immediately subbed when he inevitably gets beat and gives up the goal. Just so dumb. Timber was cleared to play for a reason, then let him play. Maybe he's not match fit, so give him 45 minutes. Infuriating

sorry lads but last night was pathetic, Arteta basically throwing Mosquera in the lion’s pit and getting the expected result. Going up that early and then not even attempting to get a second. Fucking Saka man...I hate it when he tries to be the hero and goes for his signature shot from the edge of the box even though he definitely sees there are 2 or 3 players right in front of him and the ball will get blocked/deflected right there and then. He literally sees the situation and still goes for it, because he'd rather take the infinitesimal chance of the ball hitting the back of the net and him becoming the guy who saves the day. Can't hate him because he carried Arsenal for years, but this shit is so frustrating.

>>154962801It was to be expected based on the form of all our offensive players in the past months. If just one of them had a good game I think we could have won it. It happened several times during the game.
>>154962816Surely scousaars would never
>>154962837>formLess to do with the form and way more to do with the tactics. Every single player doesn't get the ball and look to pass backwards because of their poor form. They're told to do that so they don't get caught off guard defensively.

>>154962844PSG also played to not lose possession and get caught of guard defensively. Yet they were good enough to play it forward to a more threatening player, who then passed it back again.I can agree that we were more safe in our passing than usual. I wonder how much that had to do with the earl goal. Passning it backwards when under press or when there are no options I can understand but not in the case of Trossard. He had easy super threatening options but he still dribbled backwards and passed it to our defenders (which in turn gave them less time than if he passed it earlier).
Reminder that PSG's goalkeeper was so shit
>>154962954He saved a certain goal when he dived out in front of Trossard (and got kicked in the head).
>>154962909>PSG also played to not lose possession>Wedidn't though. >We were more than happy to let them have possession. Anytime >we had the ball, the players would keep it for maybe 30 seconds before the final back pass ends with someone clearing the ball all the to their half where they get it because absolutely no one from >our side bothers to go for the first or second balls. >we were more safe in our passing than usual.I don't know if I'd agree. I'd say >we were just as safe as usual. There's been countless times, against sides of any quality, where someone like Trossard or Saka or Rice or whoever would get the ball, have like 2 or 3 players sprinting ahead, have the other team scrambling back, and they'd just not pass it forwards. They'd hold on to it until the other team is settled, all the runs were wasted, and then they'll either pass it backwards or sideways. Seriously. Countless times.
>>154963003I don't expect Rice to make a forward threatening pass as he usually doesn't. Trossard, I would expect it, and he is probably our most in form forward player. Which is why I am disappointed in him.>There's been countless times, against sides of ... either pass it backwards or sideways. Seriously. Countless times. Not as obvious forward passes as against PSG. Just because someone makes a run doesn't mean you should pass him. But the times with Trossard it was obvious he should pass it.As in extra safe I mean just what you wrote. We didn't even try to break through PSG on the ground. Everytime they pressed we hit it long and every second ball we won we hit long again. That was obviously the tactic. The Trossard part I doubt was the tactic.I would also not have started Ødegaard if the tactic was to play long balls and fight for 2nd balls. Should have started with Havertz and Gyökeres to begin with.

We did it lads. We won the Premier League! We were the first team to beat Pep Guardiola in a title race in England. We also managed to win the title while having plenty of injuries, something only Manchester City has managed in the past 10+ years. All the other teams who have won (Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester) did it with one of the lowest amount of injuries which means that their best players was available all the time and/or not being forced to change so much in the (winning) team. Brilliant achievement.
>>154963063>Not as obvious forward passes as against PSG.Just gonna have to agree to disagree then. There were so many games where the run is clear and open and the pass wasn't made and even the players have gotten visibly frustrated. PSG was just another instance of the exact same problem >we've had the entire season. It wasn't anything new. Even from Trossard. Yeah, I expected more from him too but at the same time I wasn't surprised in any way shape or form. >>154963079>Fraudegaard>Shooting directly at the keeper (of peace)Name a more iconic duo.
>>154963261>Just gonna have to agree to disagree thenSeems like it. I understand what you mean. I also wish we could pass it forward and be more direct. Usually I blame the lack or runners or open space (because no runs) but that was definitely not the case with Trossard on 3 occasions against PSG.
>>154963341Terry is a twat but at least he had the excuse of rain.
