These tournaments still aren't World Cups. FIFA recognized them, but they are not equal

A rule introduced by FIFA in 2010, however, states that only official World Cup wins enable you to print a star on your shirt – which Uruguay have only done twice
This is where the Uruguay football federation have outsmarted FIFA. Four stars were officially introduced to make up the coat of their arms as part of their football association. Therefore, four stars are an indirect reference to their four titles, but the official reasoning is that they form a part of their official coat of arms

Gotta say that in Uruguay we're at a point where kids don't care if we have 2 or 4 stars. It's kind of like how old fucks used to say Gardel was Uruguayan, and if some idiot said he was Argentinian or French, they'd hang him from a tree. This also happened with the stars on the jersey, but nowadays most young people couldn't care less. It has a lot to do with the change in players we're experiencing and the lack of faith in the national team (similar to what we saw in the 90s).

thats not really outsmarting its more like fifa doesnt really give a fuck enough to stop them. but theres no way we could just make a new logo with 10 stars over the eagle and theyd be fine with it lol

They should do this again, maybe either right before or right after the 2030 world cup. Two groups of four makes it perfect (unless we get a new winner this year)

Why do you want to leave? I ask because my understanding was that Uruguay is seen as a pretty nice place to live with low crime, etc. I've been considering living there myself. The US is very expensive now and there's a lot of problems like crime. Its not a very good place anymore

uruguay is like the latam equivalent of oklahoma.
>attached to a much more famous state
>no real cultural differences from said state
>industry built on cattle with nothing else to do
>no hope for the future or career progression unless you want to be a rancher
even the populations are equivalent. except uruguay is 10x poorer because it's latin america so there's major issues with drugs etc. don't ever buy the "low crime" narrative from latin americans, it's all relative. americans themselves are guilty of acting like things are worse than ever when violent crime has been decreasing here for decades. meanwhile the cartel is ordering successful hits on latin american politicians. there's a reason they're all trying to get anywhere else

It's expensive, it has 0 signs of progress (as a matter of fact it keeps getting worse), poor infrastructure, monotony, every woman is a girlboss, severe criminals get like 5 years in prison, significant gibsmedat population, full of socialists, progressive crap like LGBT and feminism, immigration from even worse countries, somewhat bad weather, education going down the shitter, culture being more akin to central america every year, in between 2 shitholes that also keep getting worse (even if Uruguay was first world idk if I would feel safe knowing I have a continent sized Haiti stuck to my northern border), shitty aesthetics (people don't know how to dress), unnatural skies with chemtrails (i'm not even allowed natural skies like the shitholes in Africa do), food quality is quite bad for anyone making less than 5kUSD/month (average professional doesn't even make 2.5kUSD/month), etc.

it is, but the disparity keeps getting slimer every year
every brazilian has wet dreams of conquering the whole of south america but for what? to make it a gigantic favela? sulistas can honestly shove it, until they actually leave their genetic favela republic i see them as the same as any other nordestino of however they call them
the absolute mess iberians made in what's arguably the most beautiful continent on earth is a fucking crime, every quispe mamani and joao silva that moves to that shitty peninsula and ruins their countries (and probably their passports too) is divine punishment, i hope they get 50M more

>every brazilian has wet dreams of conquering the whole of south america but for what
War games like hearts of iron 4 have caused irreparable damage to the brains of permanently online autists, peruvians too are non stop talking about conquering everything

I do like the idea of a big state that englobes south America and we all become a superpower. But that's not what brazilians have in mind, they simply want a war and putting their flag everywhere, they don't understand they would be even stronger trying to peacefully unify the continent with a political project that effectively ties the rest of the subcontinent to them through their stronger economy, something that simple they fail to see

this macaco actually thinks i give a shit about some war from decades before my family came to Uruguay
he thinks flexing something like that will make his country less of a shithole

this is why https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WKiC10GFSY plays in my head everytime i read a brazilian post
>>

I'm not 'brazilian', your statement is meaningless.
