Why doesn't soccer simply use a tier1/2/3 system where the bad teams have to play each other to get into the actual event?this is how other competitive events implement a solution for the "too many teams" problem
>>154966945What’s the „actual event“? You have to give an example at least. What is the problem, what exactly would you do?
>>154966963the actual event is the knockout stage obviously
>>154966963>What is the problemtoo many teams>what exactly would you do?tier 1 teams autoseed into the group stages for the knockout (something like 24 teams total for this, somewhere between 8-16 should auto-quality)then the rest have to play each other somehow to qualify for those spotshowever you want to do that, swiss system is common this is currently being done in cs2 in your country to determine which teams deserve to compete against tier 1
>>154966974Of what? The World Cup? Just give an actual answer, frogposter
>>154966999What’s the problem with „too many teams“? Along which lines do you decide that?>cs2Bruh, okay, I fell for it, nice one
>>154967003yes of the world cup obviouslyeverything prior to a knockout stage doesn't matter in sports>>154967017>What’s the problem with „too many teams“?because look at this shitthey play at the same entry point as brazil, france, spain, argentina, germany, etc
>>154967003>mad about frogs on a frog website
>>154967027Just go back to the old format with 32 teams, it’s that easy. No need for anything else
>>154966945If you mean by actual event as in the tournament itself. The Nations League somewhat covers your idea.If you mean by knockouts it could work if these athletes were robots not humans which have to run 10-20km for 2 hours every 3 days.
>>154967038I said you are a frogposter. Nothing more. Was I wrong? Evidently not. What is your problem with that term? Does it upset you? I hope not
>>154967069how would you like it if I called your father a frog poster? Not very much I imagine
>>154967027more countries = more revenue for fifa and their partners / sponsors. it's that simple. we all know how better it could be but greed will always prevail
