The coach is Croatian Tony Popavic former Crystal Palace player also there was a youth player Adrian Segecic who snaked us because he thinks he’ll be good enough to play for Croatia instead (hes like 3 generations removed) the coach said he wanted guaranteed playing time and when he was told no he said he won’t play for Australia.

He was our best player this season but I was surprised by his insistence that he'll be good enough to play for Croatia.
Popovic also of Croat extraction as it happens (also his own goal at Fratton Park is possibly the most technical own goal in PL history.) I recall some wild speculation that Popovic encouraged Segecic to declare for Croatia out of some ancestral pride but that seems outlandish.
