They’re not learning at all. Football matches aren’t carnival spectacles. The premier league is the most commercialized European league but it’s still somewhat tied to the community. What the supporters want still matters. Not good, I guess ultimately what he’s mostly addressing doesn’t have much to do with the on field performance, maybe they’ll learn from their mistakes so far and get better there.

I think that’s a fair thing to think at this point but I can’t quite get there yet. I think looking at it as positively as you could, you could say they’re trying to have their cake and eat it to. They’ve spend all this money on all these young players thinking that they can compete to win trophies and at the same time turn a profit or at least become financially stable by selling the ones they don’t want or need.

Ultimately a private equity firm owns the majority of the team, and PE literally only cares about a turning a profit. The only way they can get a return is if the club valuation increases, and even if you build a nice state of the art stadium and increase your global revenue, there’s no way you could increase the value of the club enough without fielding a successful football team.

So I do think they’re trying to field a team that actually wins trophies because even if they bought the team with the plan to eventually sell or at least let your investors cash out the only way you’re doing that successfully is if you’re winning things. At the very least playing in the UCL yearly and going deep in tournaments.


I think their issue is that they’re arrogant and stubborn, much more so than they’re just looking to extract wealth from the club like the Glazers were or whatever.

this is very underdiscussed among united fans but who should they sign for a new backup goalie next season?
we know he's not gonna play a lot with united back in CL but in the shittiest scenario where lammens gets injured someone else has to stand up and i cannot trust fucking bayindir to do it and it is said that he's leaving in this window.
my preferred choice is either de gea homecoming or maybe sam johnstone solely because he was a united academy lad when he was younger and they like to keep the United DNA going on.

Shame about Ferguson, he looked great then got injured and while he was injured caught glandular fever. That absolutely fucks your fitness for years.
He's still only 21 and I have hope he'll be back and firing. Think Brighton are quite keen to keep him on the books as he cost nothing to bring in and has huge potential if he could reach fitness again.

I've heard a rumour that Liverpool were also interested so it's probable that Brighton have received a couple of expressions of interest and are banking on a little bidding war.
There was also a rumour Spuds are in for a couple of other Brighton players due to RDZ pushing for the transfers. One of those players is Verbruggen, who has a really close working relationship with van Hecke. A deal might be resting on both players making decisions.
Personally though I think the 70m is a very fair valuation for him, and that's not even considering the contract situation.
I like him but don't think I'd be too sad to see them both go considering the amount of goals they give away.

Realistically United needs two signings for central midfield. As far as I'm concerned Baleba has been shit for most of this season because he thinks he's better than he is. I wouldn't mind him going. Seems like one of those players who is physically talented but genuinely retarded, I feel the same about Minteh. I feel having Pascal Gross back is a better option in many ways than having Baleba. Mad to me that towards the end of the season 40yo Milner was displacing Baleba. Personally I think Ayari will have a good world cup and come back strong and Yalcouye will be brought into the squad next season they also may buy a ready right back and allow Wieffer to play there as it's his more natural position.
