>>154990760They’re not learning at all. Football matches aren’t carnival spectacles. The premier league is the most commercialized European league but it’s still somewhat tied to the community. What the supporters want still matters. Not good, I guess ultimately what he’s mostly addressing doesn’t have much to do with the on field performance, maybe they’ll learn from their mistakes so far and get better there.
anyone?
>>154991410Frankly seems like they wouldn’t mind missing Europe to keep more nights open to host Dua Lipa concerts or whatever. Not a serious sporting project at all, just want to flip players and use PL status and London location to attract investment.
>>154991410Chelsea pitch owners have voted against letting them move to a new stadium and they own the name “Chelsea football club”. The 3 plots they were looking at have all been purchased and developed. There’s a train line on one side of Stamford Bridge and a graveyard on the other, neither of which they are allowed to move. Perhaps bigger than all of this they have already invested £4.5B and need to sell for a profit in 4 years. It’s safe to say they can’t start a £2B construction project in the middle of London and sell before groundbreaking.
>>154991500>they wouldn’t mind missing Europe to keep more nights open to host Dua Lipa concerts or whatever. Not a serious sporting project at all, just want to flip players and use PL status and London location to attract investment.I think that’s a fair thing to think at this point but I can’t quite get there yet. I think looking at it as positively as you could, you could say they’re trying to have their cake and eat it to. They’ve spend all this money on all these young players thinking that they can compete to win trophies and at the same time turn a profit or at least become financially stable by selling the ones they don’t want or need. Ultimately a private equity firm owns the majority of the team, and PE literally only cares about a turning a profit. The only way they can get a return is if the club valuation increases, and even if you build a nice state of the art stadium and increase your global revenue, there’s no way you could increase the value of the club enough without fielding a successful football team. So I do think they’re trying to field a team that actually wins trophies because even if they bought the team with the plan to eventually sell or at least let your investors cash out the only way you’re doing that successfully is if you’re winning things. At the very least playing in the UCL yearly and going deep in tournaments.I think their issue is that they’re arrogant and stubborn, much more so than they’re just looking to extract wealth from the club like the Glazers were or whatever.
>>154991727The Glazers takeover was uniquely insane because they “bought” the club and then paid for it by borrowing £800m in the clubs name. Then rather than use the clubs profits to invest in the team or pay off the massive debt they paid themselves dividends. It’s illegal now to do what they did.
(((Manchester United)))
>>154991839still owned by glazers btw KEK
>>154991588I don’t know the specifics but I think any financial deadline Chelsea might have coming up can always be kicked down the road, that’s just how the world works for the ultra wealthy. It’s only peoples pensions that they’re gambling with anyway. But on the sporting side they’re just not as bad as it looked last season. They’re closer to Arsenal and Man City than they are to 10th place. That may seem idiotic but I truly believe it
>>154992707Before Maresca left they were on course to get 60 points, level with Liverpool but quite far from United and Villa. Maybe they could have got 5th. I don’t think they will beat 60 points next year if 2-3 of the best players leave.
STOP CALLING HIM AREOLA
this is very underdiscussed among united fans but who should they sign for a new backup goalie next season? we know he's not gonna play a lot with united back in CL but in the shittiest scenario where lammens gets injured someone else has to stand up and i cannot trust fucking bayindir to do it and it is said that he's leaving in this window. my preferred choice is either de gea homecoming or maybe sam johnstone solely because he was a united academy lad when he was younger and they like to keep the United DNA going on.
>>154993310Hmm... are there any epl teams with a quality backup gk? Liverpool maybe? I don't think even Assna fans would trust Kepa if Raya was injured. Looking outside of England, all of PSG's keepers option are shit
>>154993641bayindir is exceptionally shit, you don't ask much for a backup gk but he can't even put up with the bare standard. hence i try to be realistic with my preferred choice, someone who has had enough experience but can be called upon when needed.but then again i looked at the review of johnstone's time at wolves and seems like people agreed he's even worse than jose sa so who knows.
>>154993641That’s not how you get a decent backup. Go buy a starter from a poor French team like Sels or Bizot.
>>154992910Fair, I just think there is another level they can reach that they didn't reach with Enzo outside of the CWC. I'm a big believer in Xabi
>>154995943I hope that Xabi's title as 'manager' means that he will have full control over which players come in for the first team.Blueco have not changed any of their sporting directors, which is very concerning for me. Also, a guy like Eghbali is clearly clueless as an executor, and I hope someone slaps him.
>>154993310> i cannot trust oh wow! im sure carrick and jim will listen to a fan that cannot trust a backup keeper! that's it, stop the presses! we need a backup gk NOW! the fan said he can't trust!
>>154996482did you just skip the part bayindir is close to leaving this window you absolute prat
>>154995943The difference was the wingplay. Palmer and Neto were great at the CWC.>>154996408If they signed a top manager and gave him full control instead of getting Potter, Chelsea would have won the league last season instead of Slotpool.
13 years of Hurt
>>154996408I would hope for Xabi's sake that he got some assurance from BlueCo that he'd be given an autonomy that none of the previous managers had and to me Xabi has always come across as an intelligent and calculated person so I think that's the case. I'm excited to see their window. But yeah as for the sporting directors and Eghbali I am wholly unimpressed Eghbali especially I don't think I've heard him say anything reasonable, it's like every time he speaks in public it's some arrogant child-like garbage.>>154996537Yeah Palmer was amazing that tournament I hope he's over whatever was contributing to his poor performance this year
>>154996693Understandable desu

>>154997356they're getting senesi and robbo i wonder if there's any defenders outmaybe robbo is to replace ben davies who will probably head to an early retirement
>>154997303The way Madrid and Barca handle the transfer market is pure comedy tbqh. They just lie, they have like media apparatuses dedicated to just lying.
>>154997338>Van de Ven>Van HeckeWho can stop the Men of Ven?
>>154997331I suppose because it's being done by someone who isn't actually part of the club yet, but could be, it would be a legal issue to be handled by state courts rather than CAS (who we saw stepping in when Nantes demanded money from Cardiff City over Sala, for example).
Viana at City is way too chummy with Romano, guy knows literally everything, even dramashit like this Madrid stuff. It wasn't like this under Txiki.

>Rejecting 70m for Van HeckeBrighton are madmen. Remember when they demanded 100m for Ferguson and turned down 70 for Baleba? Kek
>>154997573it's fine though they have analytics on their side
We gon git Anderson :)
>>154997573Van Hecke is one of the best players in the squad and would be a big loss. Brighton have set figures for all of their players. I'd imagine there are other parties interested in him for them to reject 70m though, he only cost 2m to sign.
>>154997592his contract ends next year, if van hecke really wanted to stay he should've signed da ting seasons ago, but I suppose it's a bit shit if the best club that wants to sign you is fucking sperms
>>154997582Doubt he'd sign for a Slovenian team m8
>>154997573Baleba will go for over 70m, I think the set price for him is 80Shame about Ferguson, he looked great then got injured and while he was injured caught glandular fever. That absolutely fucks your fitness for years. He's still only 21 and I have hope he'll be back and firing. Think Brighton are quite keen to keep him on the books as he cost nothing to bring in and has huge potential if he could reach fitness again.
>>154997613media pretty much implied if united can't get elliot they'll do with mateus fernandes instead. baleba has fallen off the cliff since his move to united got blocked
>>154997606Oh, he's definitely not staying.I've heard a rumour that Liverpool were also interested so it's probable that Brighton have received a couple of expressions of interest and are banking on a little bidding war. There was also a rumour Spuds are in for a couple of other Brighton players due to RDZ pushing for the transfers. One of those players is Verbruggen, who has a really close working relationship with van Hecke. A deal might be resting on both players making decisions.Personally though I think the 70m is a very fair valuation for him, and that's not even considering the contract situation.I like him but don't think I'd be too sad to see them both go considering the amount of goals they give away.
>>154997639>Spurs get Verbruggen, Van Hecke and Balebakek
>>154997628Realistically United needs two signings for central midfield. As far as I'm concerned Baleba has been shit for most of this season because he thinks he's better than he is. I wouldn't mind him going. Seems like one of those players who is physically talented but genuinely retarded, I feel the same about Minteh. I feel having Pascal Gross back is a better option in many ways than having Baleba. Mad to me that towards the end of the season 40yo Milner was displacing Baleba. Personally I think Ayari will have a good world cup and come back strong and Yalcouye will be brought into the squad next season they also may buy a ready right back and allow Wieffer to play there as it's his more natural position.
>>154990914>>A report from The Mirror states that Manchester United have paused contract talks with club captain Bruno Fernandes because co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is prioritising new signings. Fernandes is reportedly nearing the final year of his current £250,000-a-week deal, although the club has an option to activate a 12-month extension.Does that make any sense? Didn't he just get an EPL best player/midfielder award?Who could they, realistically, get to improve on that?
>>154997680they just bought ederson so they only need 1 more (some want 2 more because mount can't be trusted to stay fit at all and united still need some depth in CM cos both casemiro and ugarte left leaving only mainoo as the only CM in 2-man midfield depth)
>>154997653I don't think spurs will go for Baleba but it would be funny. Can't remember who the other player was rumoured to be but it was three players that developed under RDZ at Brighton. Verbruggen goes and they bring Rushworth back from loan, I don't see that as a huge downgrade.
>>154997692Out of interest so you rate Mainoo?I get his poster boy potential but feel he's very overrated. Agree that Mount is stealing a living and will need to have cover, fair play to him kek
I am here therefore i bless thy thread.
>>154997712He's fine as a starter, it's either how underrated or overrated to you lot. Buying 3 CMs is overkill when they still need to buy a new LB and a new striker/winger.
