Have they not invented multi storey car parks on Usa yet?
>>
>>155086898
Too expensive and they've got a lot of space.
>>
>>155086898
america is home of the wasteful, it's cheaper to level the forest for parking than build a multi-story

The thing is, Americans in general dont want people who cant afford a car near them, this is on purpose. If you saw what type of people dont have cars in the US youd understand.

>The SoFi Shuttle is a free bus service operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), providing transportation between SoFi Stadium and the LAX/Metro Transit Center. From there, passengers can connect to the Metro C Line and K Line.

There's a neighborhood 200 yards away. Just buy a house in that neighborhood.

Nobody walks in LA. There was even a song about that, back in the 80s.

So it's not true americans don't walk
they just walk in the parking lot which is big as a city

is this really that unreasonable? this isn't comparable to the new jersey situation at all. there are public busses that will get you here for a couple dollars. there are shuttle services. there's uber. walking from hotels is more than reasonable unless you're a fat fuck

How come Americans don't walk? Is it because of a lack of sidewalks? Is it because of car lobbies or something in your country who make walking as hard as possible so you're more incentivized to buy a car?
>>
>>155087903
When new yorkers aren't mugging each other, they tend to walk to places.
>>
>>155087896
and that's a problem because it forces people into poverty due to making them buy cars.

>>
>>155087066
it used to be like that, now they make sports teams/business go in shithole areas to try and bring it up
this stadium is in a pretty shitty part of town from what I've seen
>>
>>155087644

I did this walk a long time ago before Covid to the forum and it was only like 30 mins. It sucked and I wouldn't do it again but I was poor at the time and didn't want to pay for an Uber
>>
>>155087903
most of our cities are sprawling and were designed for cars. there's usually some distance between residential areas and business areas. if you live 3 miles from the store, you're looking at at spending two hours walking round-trip. in a car it just takes a couple minutes. so you buy a car.
>>
will there be ubers for people who parked far away from the entrance?
>>
>>155086898
In places where real estate is cheap, it makes more sense to build wide instead of tall. Which is why a stadium in Los Angeles, a city with notoriously low real estate prices, chose to forego multi storey car parks.

>If you saw what type of people dont have cars in the US
I have been on American public transport so I know what it's like. But this is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
>design city for cars
>only people who don't use cars are homeless drug addicts
>no one wants to use public transport because of the homeless drug addicts
>more people use cars
>keep designing the city for cars
>>
>>155087903
>What element in American life would cause them to fundamentally change the way they build cities for the sole purpose of reducing unplanned pedestrian encounters
Hmm. Who can say.
>>
>>155087616
Not exactly as big as a city but hey.
>>
>>155087903
When I visited LA I walked around like the clueless euro I was. Even in areas that were relatively safe, it was just incredibly depressing to walk around. Like walking through an industrial area. Miles and miles of straight lines and nothing to see. You don't see any people accept crazy fentanyl zombies. It's like the city is actively telling you "this is wasn't you were supposed to do", you're in the middle of fucking nowhere go drive somewhere". It was slightly different in New York obviously but still there was a sense that people don't really stroll around. They just walk as little as is required to get to their destination.
>>
>>155086800
>they tore down my beloved racetrack for this piece of shit
RIP free admission and dollar hot dogs. i will NEVER go to sofi under any circumstances.
>>
>>155088543
Why would you walk around in industrial areas in the first place
>>
>>155088639
It wasn't an industrial area. It was just so empty and had so little to see that it felt like one.
>>
>>155088473
It's a pain in the ass to get to. You're stuck in traffic for one hour getting there, then you're stuck in traffic for more than one getting out. You can't drink at any local bars cus it's a big infested neighborhood. At least rose bowl is safer, white, and actually dare I say.....walkable.
>>
>>155086800
I've walked to this stadium You'll be fine Arvyds
>>
>>155089100
they literally have direct shuttles for $1.75 per direction. drink on the bus. stop being retarded, this is as convenient as it gets.
>>
I remember there was a social media post which featured our greatest stadium, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and all of these confused americans were questioning where the parking is
>>
>>155086800
america is such a shithole
>>
>>155086800
God damn I never realized how soulless that thing is. They do a great job never showing all the surrounding wasteland on TV, just the manmade pond on the one side.
>>
>>155086812
You have literally zero rail network and the bus system of yours is fucking dog shit.

Are Americans allergic to multi-storey building or something

The rose bowl is only a decent stadium in January
