MillerTech Battery 250 presented by KOA at Pocono Raceway
The Pocono 2nd leg with the forest just behind the wall and fence is one of my favorite features of US auto racing.

Does anyone know whether the Action diecasts for the Ford Taurus prior to 2003 are accurate in their body shape? Everyone I ask can't seem to agree whether Team Caliber or Action is more accurate, or say that both are not accurate and that I should just buy 2003 instead of 2002, 2001, or 2000.
>Sieg, Kyle
Geekbros...
>>155206180I wouldn't consider any diecast accurate to the chassis/bodies that actually show up to the track
>>155206464Okay, I meant accurate enough to where I could use it as a reference to build a body mesh that's plausible enough. I've been able to do this with the Monte Carlo easy enough but finding a physical reference for the Ford Taurus in particular has been giving me a massive headache for days now, I don't want to have the same problem as the body shell for the Taurus does in the Cup 2000 mod which is apparently taken from NASCAR Thunder, presumably 2002.
>>155206180want a fun fact? they used diecasts as references for the 3d models in the nascar games back in the day
>>155206691For the Taurus in particular, dunno what brand they were but I had two different 1:24s and I would recommend not bothering.
>AlfredoThis guy is good now, or...
>>155206805That'd be funny if it's true considering I'm doing the exact same thing for the last year after (2 years of messing around) but with a higher polygon budget (something from a 2007 game) compared to what you'd see in the early 2000s. Because when I look at my game references a lot of it seems to line up well, learned the most from studying an Elite and an ARC besides just scavenging for information online.
>>155207140team caliber were considered the better ones, i think they had a closer relationship with ford or something
>>155207140The Racing Champions Tauruses always had rediculously flat noses.
>>155207222Pretty sure Team Caliber were owned by Jack Roush himself, which is why they supposedly had the best guts. But I then also hear their bodies were too thick and not as detailed as Action (or with the right decal placement), which seems to be the case on the spoilers at least.
>>155206343
>>155207381The Racing Champions diecasts (save for the Intrepid from what someone said, could be wrong) were kind of bottom tier in terms of accuracy besides Hot Wheels.
>>155207140>dunno what brand they were but I had two different 1:24sCould probably tell from an image right away at this point with how much I've studied so as to not wind up with an 80-100$ after import paperweight.
>>155208324rc were mainly toys for kids, accuracy wasn't as important as pumping out models
The day these cars stop racing is going to be a sad day for NASCAR.
yay shitters
and there's the caution they wanted
>>155208653I've got no idea where those ones are. I do know where my Racing Champions 2002 Johnny Benson Zerex Pontiac is though.
I had to step away after stage 2. Did I miss anything important?
Creed second win incoming
So many electronic devices in that old CoT chassis, it looks funny

After 17 races, Lavar Scott will have an average finish of 25.5.The Deeg, in her one season of Xfinity, was fired after 17 races with an average finish of 26.8.

>>155206180Ford updated the Taurus body in 2000, that's the accurate 2000-2005 Taurus.most diecast cars of that era used the superspeedway body for every car anyway, they almost never used the aero wars twisted sister bodyshapes.
