Golden age is done, by at least a good 18 years, it's not coming back either. Our niggers used to love the sport, now they can barely wait to get picked up by Real Madrid when they're 18 to make their millions.

Add the fact that the sport itself has been optimized, I.E most of the fun and player agency has been neutered in lieu of tactics. It's unironically over for us.

I am 50 yo. Here is the non-meme answer:

>world cups favor national teams whose players are enlisted from clubs that play nationally (i.e: the entire attack from Germany in 2014 were german players from the same club). When brazilian players are a ragtag from players who have played in every league, from Argentina to China, they can barely coordinate
>brazilians are just not as good at football as they used to be, when football was played mostly by kids having fun. Increasingly, football has become systematized and elitecized, major players come from families of major football players (see Neymar Jr)
>brazilian talent is recruited ever younger and sent to play in less competitive leagues, brazilian players used to be forged in hellfire (as the brazilian leagues used to be), now they are just brought to Series D of the UK when they are 14 yo and end up playing for Bradford against people who barely know what a ball is
>Brazilian politics harm football, and there is far too much conflict of interest by local clubs, government, sponsors, veterans of the sport and media trying to push specific athletes due to their brand rather than tactical utility (Neymar Jr has NO BUSINESS being in this world cup, yet he was called up over better young talent)
>trainers do not know brazilian talent well (coaches are also far worse today than in the 90s, result from coaches working more abroad than dealing with brazilian teams. The current coach is an italian whom no one understands)
>the morale is terribly low. Brazilians enter the arena scared. This is true. We have never been the same after 2014, there is an open wound in the culture of the club that can only heal with the very same Hexa that it impedes
>football is, gradually, losing appeal. It is not as bad as Italy, that just doesn't have the youth to compete anymore, but football used to be thr most brazilian thing back in the early 2000s and 1990s. Now, brazilians are growing bored of it, they prefer videogames
>>
our new generation players are mid
it's the fault of youth academies, which prioritized putting potencial talented players in positions that generate more money from sales, like wingers
the result: mediocre wingers that could have been good fullbacks, midfielders and strikers

The Brazilian Football Confederacy (CBF) has been used as a political tool since the 2000s, there's a massively corrupt judge (Gilmar Mendes) who personally appoints their chairman, despite CBF having "elections", he is, of course, a socialist.

Not to mention the instagramfication of the sport since Neymar became the biggest brazilian player in 2010, the players don't care about the World Cup like they did in the 90s.

We are a poor country, and foreigners come in with a fat check for the club and the player that they can't refuse.

Pelé had to be prohibited by the GOVERNMENT from playing outside Brazil, because he would have 100% left if we hadn't forced him to stay. Nowadays, this is unconstitutional.

Brazil used to be hardcore about winning championships. These days, we are so defeated by democracy that we just let capitalism run its course, and let foreign clubs with more money take our talent then return them once players are old.

Lula tried to do something about this back in the 2000s, but (as you can see), stern words make no difference because we just don't have the money to stop Al Nasr or Real Madrid from buying everyone mildly decent.

FFS, we have foreign scouts here watching our players play in children's championships in Rio. The foreigners just lurk in our playgrounds, trying to snatch our talent before they are too old to demand more money.

Football is a money game. And we don't have money.
>>
>>155278163

Most youth academies in Brazil are complete shit. We're way behind pretty much every major European footballing nation in terms of youth development and this is further accentuated by the fact that many of our big clubs focus on producing wingers and strikers to sell at higher profits for the European market. Forwards are more profitable than defenders and most midfielders.
>>
>>155278775
Blame the Brazilian Catholic Church for choosing to go full communist in the last 20 years
>>
>>155278163
I think they lost their way in the modern game. Football today is driven by data and autistically analyzing and optimizing everything. The Brazilian football everyone thinks of was free-flowing and spontaneous. This doesn't work anymore. So they kind of copied European systems, but that's just not their thing either. Also, there is now an entire business industry around "Brazilian talents" that doesn't care about actually developign anyone (only about selling), and they probably are quite corrupt
But Brazil still has a lot of talent, they will never suck
>>
>>155280173

>>155280127
No, we have a golden age from 1930 until 1958, than a silver age from 1958 to 1980, then a bronze age from 1980 to 1994, then a sort of an iron age from 1994 to 2008 and now we are beyond event horizon.

The funny thing is that our teams that won were pretty organized. Just look at 94' Brazil as an example.

>Also, there is now an entire business industry around "Brazilian talents" that doesn't care about actually developign anyone (only about selling), and they probably are quite corrupt.

You're on point with this, many players are developed and picked with European team needs in mind. Why try to develop someone as a mid-fielder when there are a decent amount of good ones in Europe? There's demand for wingers so let's try to find that.

Another factor that I didn't see people talking about is that Brazil is simply developing, so football isn't widely by every single kid as it was before. The talent pool is getting shallower and shallower. I think things might get better with time but it is going to take a while to get a team good enough to win a WC.

Here's the thing, i think that we aren't worse than we were in the past, it's just that it has become harder and harder to win a World Cup, and we didn't managed to win one yet, that's all.

Brazil has 5 wins but in the past the tournament was WAY less competitive, this year it has become even harder to win with the increased number of teams participating.

It's retarded to always expect that our team is gonna win the tournament, this o hexa thing is delirious. For a team to consistently win it all in a format where a single loss can take you out it would require an absurd level of consistency.

The rise of evangelism in Brazil is genuinely so disheartening. For decades the average Brazilian household was catholic, pious, understanding and respecting of the faith. Now most of our poorest citizens are visiting megachurches, giving money to fake clergyman who have little separating them from common conman as they travel on their private jets and create ostentatious enourmous temples. The same poor people who are being assailed daily by terrotist-like organized crime groups, and who have become so economically disilusioned that they're betting all money they have, as betting apps have completely overtaken all adds in the country, and become a normal part of society. The future does not look good.

Not sure how much weight his words carry here when he himself did build a lot of personal brand at the time (remember the whole Cascão haircut?), hell in 06 them being treated as celebrities was considered one of the biggest problems.

They don’t field full-blooded niggers anymore, except Viny

He did the haircut so the media would talk about it instead of his knee injury, which could affect morale. Or so are the claims.

Right, said claim he made this year, I call it bullshit. Regardless, that was just one of the many things he did to build a personal brand. To be fair I don't even think that's entirely wrong per se, they _are_ celebrities after all, as long as they give their utmost for important games like the ones in a World Cup, it's fine. And to Ronaldo's credit, yes our current team has zero of that.
