We're in worse shape than the previous 2 tournaments.With that being said we have a really solid team that is full of desirable players. Harry Kane is quite literally the best striker in the world cup. We have great midfielders and wingers that can supplement him. The defence is solid. There are some caveats like John Stones being injured for a long time and not having much game time (do you really want that as your centre back in a tournament football setting?). Lots of teams like spain seem to be misfiring. it could be /OURYEAR/ if we get lucky. We also have a better manager who knows what it takes to get deep in knockout tournaments.
