We used to be the only western nation with ngubus. Now it's ngubus everywhere. And even for the African nations, most of the are born in Europe. The "World" Cup doesn't mean anything anymore.
I imagine a lot of this is match fixing and/or selective doping. In any case these big events are spectacles, not sport. Expect more slurping in these big events for as long as they keep happening, which I'd give 20-ish years or so
