I don’t see it that way. They’re worried that the club will be split along the lines of mercenaries and locals, they just need some reassurances. There should be some money spent on the local PNG comp, fix the grounds and stands and get some new toilets and gym equipment and stuff. Put some money into juniors, free shorts and socks and work out a way for cheaper boots, get some sponsors in on it, that kind of thing. It shouldn’t look like they’re just putting some mercenary team up there that’s going to live and train separately and exclusively and totally segregated from the local community, it will cause problems when they have local players in the team too.Whatever the issues are the Australian government has committed to this and need to help, it might be with law enforcement or local community funding or anything really
