This group stage is completely meaningless. I hope they go to 64 teams in the next WC already. Even if the level drops at least the group stage will mean something
>>
>>155340429
Maybe 96 so they can have a round of 64 in the knock out round
>>
>>155340429
64 would be completely ridiculous in terms of average game quality. It would be nearly impossible to host for individual nations, even the big ones
And you KNOW they'd give Asia like 15 spots to finally get China in (India and probably also Indonesia are too shit as of now)
>>
>>155340500
America can host it
>>
>>155340429
I think South America wants it expanded to 64 teams so Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina can each host their full group stage.
>>
>>155340429
Just go back to 32 ffs
There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, but FIFA wanted their megalomania show, and to make even more money
>>
>>155340703
Nothing wrong with more money
>>
>>155340590
That's probably CONMEBOL's idea yeah. IMO we should have less confederations or more shared spots
>32 UEFA (50 something countries)
>12 CONCACAF + CONMEBOL (50 something countries)
>10 CAF (50 something countries)
>10 AFC + OFC (50 something countries)

>>155340703
I agree but I'm trying to be realistic here, they are never going down again unless Infantino goes full blown jew and creates a World Nations League with tiers and stuff, with a tournament every year like they do in Volleyball
>>
>>155340500
We have too many stadiums, so it can be done.
>>
>>155340826
>>32 UEFA
That's just silly
>>
>>155340800
More money for me perhaps, but not for MaFIFAggots. It doesn't serve the game, or anyone of value
>>155340826
You are unfortunately right
But if it's about being realistic, then we have to expect a distribution more like this in a 64 team tournament
>UEFA: 18
>CONMEBOL: 7
>CONCACAF: 7
>AFC: 14
>CAF: 14
>OFC: 1
>Intercontinental Playoffs: 3 (for anyone except UEFA and CONMEBOL)
They will primarily try to boost Asia and Africa, disproportionally. Especially Asia since they are most interested in the customers there

It is, but the level difference is huge.

True, Infantino will do everything in his power to make sure China and India get in in the future
>>
>>155340862
Only you and China could host such a tournament. Even China would struggle if FIFA demanded no running tracks

I mean, since multi-nation hosting is already a thing, they could easily do it with like 4 countries, each hosting 16 teams
>>
>>155341143
Yes. But that fucking sucks
It's just getting grimmer and grimmer
>>
>>155341188
Yeah
>>
>>155341143
I wonder if it could ever get to a point where FIFA drops the entire concept of host nations and does 1 home and away game for every match like the UCL.
>>
>>155341474
Probably not profitable enough. They can rake in bribes and make lots of sweet commercial deals by handing out hosting rights
But the second it is more profitable, they will obviously consider it
>>
>>155341099
Yes
>>
>>155341474
No way. Games would be played at such random times, there’d be no groove I feel
