For what it's worth, the Truman Sports Complex, where Arrowhead stadium is located, has a massive parking lot. And normally for games there, people just drive their own cars and park, and it costs like 40 or 50 bucks to park (which is outrageous, because it used to be 15 dollars until 6 or 7 years ago). There are 26,000 parking spaces there. Arrowhead stadium holds around 76,000 people. So, it's usually no issue for a normal sold out chiefs game. People ride their together, some people take Ubers/Taxis (cost of uber/taxi trip roughly same as parking pass, maybe a bit more). You'd think, since the stadium holds a fixed amount of people, and has many games per year, and it always works perfectly, that it would work fine for the World Cup matches, right? WRONG!!!! FIFA fucked it up. They've reduced the number of available parking spots. Instead of the 26,000 spots available on normal days for football or baseball games there's only a few thousand and the parking passes range from $125 on the low end to $900 on the high end. Instead, they want everyone to use the FIFA specific busses which fans can board at certain parts of the city. Of course fans can still Uber/Taxi as well. Apparently though the traffic was bad and some people were in the busses for 2-3 hours, to go less than 10 miles. Even the Uber drop-off apparently took over an hour to get out of the car once you reached the stadium location. Just a colossal fuckup for the first game. Weird how parking and transport to games always works fine for Baseball and Football games but as soon as the World Cup shows up and FIFA takes over everything they manage to screw it up
