Wait until low block meets arsenal/stoke city tactics

can somebody help me understand formations?
for example, I also saw 4-4-2 with Uruguay, I know that’s four in the back four in the middle and 2 in the front. But why? Is that to make it more defensive?

game score 1 - 0

Kinda shows you which team has the potential to win it, it's not like top players are strangers to facing low blocks. Going with this, France, Argentina and England are solid. I'm hesitant to add Germany because the low block they faced was... shaky, to put it mildly. France is the one team who has convinced me the most because they had a really solid showing against a good opponent, I was really impressed by their defense and they wouldnt have conceded if they werent fucking around at the end. Argentina is still somewhat of an unknown because their opponent was just not it, but at least they didnt concede so, they will go far. England... they faced a good opponent like France, they showed us convincing offensive displays but huh.... that defense.... yeah. Basicaly England path to victory is scoring lots of goals, you don't have confidence in then to hold onto a 1-0 lead for example. Let's see Germany against a decent team and maybe they're in the discussion. Spain, I think they were genuinly asleep that first match and will get better. Portugal... really depends if they dare to take our Ronaldo, that guy is a legit deadweight. If they remove him, the question is how does this affect the team's moral, how are they used to play without him etc... but I would still give them better chances. Doubt they reach the final four though unless they get a soft path to it.

It depends on the state of the game and the runs. 4-4-2 doesn't really tell you the whole picture, since you can have many different off-ball movements and roles. For example, in modern football, both fullbacks now go to attack, but other teams may prefer to just send one to shoot crosses. A stopper can also get between the centerbacks on attack, an attacker can run downfield to receive the ball thus confusing the defenders (false 9), wingers can fall back on defense and fullbacks get closer to their own area, etc. Even without considering off-ball movements, a 4-4-2 may use two stoppers (I think Mourinho did this) or two more attacking midfielders.

Poch plays gegenpressing or whatever it’s spelled. Then again calling it euroball is wrong because France, Germany and England don’t play that way. It’s mostly medball

You need to have a non retarded striker, Cucurella tried this against Cabo Verde, unfortunately Ferran Torres is worse than dogshit.
