We have had probably one of the worst stroke of luck with injuries I've ever seen. Of the 26 guys we called up 10 of them were either injured or coming off of injuries and 8 of them see defenders. Bombito and alphonso davies haven't played in ages. Now they are coming back and the giy who is supposed to be our best midfielders and a key player to watch breaks his leg

Is there better footage?
It seems like the qatari player first stepped with his left foot on Canada's player left foot, and while he was stepping on it with his left foot he kicked his (Canada shin with his (qatari) right foot.
And that's why his leg broke, because it was locked in the field and the qatari player kicked it.
Is that it?

>I don't understand how this broke his leg

I don't really get it either. There wasn't much power behind that leg sweep. All I can figure is the leg was already fractured and that kick was the straw that broke the camel's back.
>>

For a broken bone? Even children often break their bones and it may be faster for them to recover but it's a fairly simple injury I would have thought. It's not like an ACL tear.

This was not a vicious tackle, if you really want to injure someone this is not how you would do it.

these mfs have never broken anything or had a real sports injury. a clean break in the middle of a leg bone or arm bones are the literal easiest things to recover from. he'll be fine. feet, ankles, knees, elbows will fuck you up more. snapping ligaments or tendons have long recovery times and those are the things that commonly end careers (or make you a shell of your former self)

I've broken bones at three times in my life, and the most serious was when I snapped both the ulna and radius (forearm) in half. A break does hurt a bit in the moment but will dull out pretty fast. Then you will feel extreme agony but only when you move it, even just a little, because all of the nerves are pulled tight as fuck. Stabilize the limb until you can be treated and you honestly won't feel much. I placed my dangly Z-shaped arm on a large hardcover textbook and could walk around just fine feeling almost nothing, but if I flexed my wrist or tried to move my fingers even a little bit there was severe and instant pain throughout everything below the elbow. This is part of why you see casts for arms and legs also immobilize the wrist and ankle for the injured limb. It's also why your ribs are one of the most painful bones you can break - it's not like you can stop breathing for months while they heal.

Majority of the time in this scenario players will either flop forward or they'll be take off their feet. His weight was on that leg and his studs stuck in the turf.

There's a weird bump about two thirds down his leg. I think his tibia had a clean break and if not for the long socks we'd see his bone sticking out. As to how, an anon in the match thread found a frame and drew some arrows, but the idea is that the defender's left foot landed just to the left of heem snappy's left foot, then the defender's right swept in from the right. Normally that challenge would just sweep his leg out from underneath him and he'd fall, but since the defender's left foot was blocking snappy's foot from sliding away it turned into a fulcrum and lever thing and the leg snapped.

It's just unfortunate, if his boot wasn't planted nothing would come of it, but refs have to react after an injury like that

>It's also why your ribs are one of the most painful bones you can break - it's not like you can stop breathing for months while they heal.
Good to know, I guess I've always been more worried about large bone breaks than I should have been.
t. broke four ribs a decade ago and found it godawful, but worried I was being a sook because it hurt way more than when I broke three of my metatarsals on the foot

Broken bones are the easiest to recover from. They often look the worst but are easy to heal from. It's the soft tissue ligament and muscle injuries that really end careers.
>>
>>155480420
Won't a broken bone coincide with soft tissue damage?

It's a straight red. Uncontroversial.
As was Messi's calf-stomp from behind against Algeria, by the way. But we all know why he wasn't carded.

I have seen enough videos, it wasn't a red.
>>
>>155476920
It was. At first they gave out a yellow, but I think they promoted it to a full red after a VAR check or something.

Pause the game or pause the clock? Because the game was definitely paused for like six minutes.

Adrenaline kicks in instantly the moment you see it. usually after 12-24 hours then it starts to feel painful and doctors would prescribe you pain meds to deal with it. Pain goes away after 48 hours eventually.
>T. Anon who's recovering from a trimalleolar fracture since late April this year. at least i get to stay home and watch the world cup lol.

If you make someone bleed, knock them out or break any part of their body it's an automatic red card even if it was a light touch.

stupid rule
>>
>>155464361
Its a yellow all day he's come in from behind and swept his legs and missed the ball completely. You sometimes see them not given as it doesnt seem that reckless a sweep, he's attempting to get the ball but just clumsily kicks and upends the man. Unfortunate in this unusual case his leg broke but the fact its from behind and ended up with the players leg like this... Your just asking for trouble if you do clumsy fouls from behind like that, reckless endangerment i think they chalk it up as.

>>155485122
i don't think that's the rule
