It's trying too hard to be vintage and in that way it loses what made the era it's trying to replicate unique.
A bit like the concepts in Man in the High Castle (the book, not the show) about replicating a fake version of the past as opposed to the real versions of the past.
It's too loud, but in the noise is an obvious attempt to be something from 30 years ago, but in its attempt to look like something 30 years old it loses the mid-90s aesthetic completely.
The same shit happened with 80s clothes a decade ago.
