Austin Reaves, the Laker's second option, just got paid what he is worth. He deserves the max and is a top guard in the league. He proved he could be the best player on a championship team without Luka or LeBron. He proved he can elevate his teammates (Ayton chemistry, adapting off-ball to Luka, hustling and playing lanes). He has good positional size and is a mini-Luka who can actually play off-ball. Austin was being used as a POA but has other defensive strengths which will improve when he gains muscle and has better defenders around him. When we have our franchise 5, and when Adou+Carr become rotation ready, we're just a wing away from being a top contender. Jeets will attack us, blacks will attack Austin, and Asians will hate us. Luka fans will attack Austin until he proves himself in the playoffs (he will) but they will all come around. You can build a strong defence around Luka and AR through being switch heavy. Luka and Austin will prove you wrong by winning an NBA championship together.
