because the moose isn't particularly majestic and it isn't even the national animal/emblem of Canada. unfortunately, Canada is a gay fag country so even their 'official' animals (beaver, goose) are also lame. a grizzly bear might've been a cooler but nobody really associates grizzlies with Canada even though the vast majority of the world population of grizzlies live in Canada.
