This entire tourney has 2010 meme magic for Spain. The way everyone is talking about them getting hammered by France is exactly the same way (actually it was way worse back then) to how people were talking about Spain vs Germany.

I remember how everyone was shitting on Spain for being a fluke country who barely beat Paraguay 1-0 in the quarters while Germany came from being England 4-1 in the 1/16th and then Argentina 4-0 in the quarters. Everyone was expecting Germany to absolutely smash them. I wonder if history gonna repeat itself

We were waaaay better around 2010-2012. Especially 2012. NT level it's just that low right now.

You shouldn't talk about past glories. You shouldn't even be talking about the euros in 2024. You should only be considering how 2026 France plays against 2026 Spain

Maybe but the Germany/France comaprisons are spot on. Both were seen as invincible monsters come the semi finals.
>Germany had scored 13 and conceded only 2 in 5 matches
>France has scored 16 and conceded 2 in 6 matches
The hype around both teams is insane and everyone considers Spain as an outsider, the same way they did in 2010.

Historical precedent is one of the best and most fun things in football mate.

While I don't have anything against Spain as a country, I have always hated them when it comes to football. Because they were good and styled on us (France) while looking mid or boring against others.
It's not the same without Iker Chadsillas, and the others, though. Even that 5-4 nations league game started looking grim for Spain once France had digested the paella and got into 2nd gear.
And I think that spanish team was better than the current one.
This Spain doesn't feel scary...
