People have a innate mentality that all games (including sports) are escapes from the harsh "real" world, where it should be free from real world bullshit. That's why people get really offended when they think the game is rigged.

I'm much more worried of the opposite take. How everyone is digging through minutes of videos to see an unfair advantage for someone in a match while nobody puts 1% of that effort against corruption and other real world issues. Looks like you can't get people's attention unless you descend to very trivial matters that trigger their pride and ego more.
