Yes, football sucks because the score is too low, so a simple, subtle cheat can manipulate an entire match. In basketball, the only way to manipulate a match is to cheat so many times that it becomes too obvious. But just watching Argentina advance in every game thanks to refereeing help is enough to lose any hope in this sport.

The one mexican guy said he watched like 2 seconds of it because his family was. They were half zoomers but the point stands I don't think anyone genuinely cares. Asked part of my family, they didn't seem to care. I had my step-bro visiting and he likes soccer, but we werent watching it at all when any of the games were on, nor was a single word mentioned about it even when I explicity asked about the world cup. Interest in the sport is just nonexistent here no matter how they try and push it. I dont see how this world cup helped at all. In soccer, games don't end until the corrupt FIFA refs decide to let them end (iow, when their favored teams like England have scored enough to win).
