Swiss yellows and Argentian yellows were missed and the game got pretty physical. The referee basically lost control of the game and lost credibility in making calls. Second half starts, ref looks nervous and players are diving and flopping probably trying to finally trigger the ref into giving yellows for the opposing team, yet the ref is blind or not taking control at all. Right before the double yellow, there was a hard foul on Embolo that would have been called a yellow in any other game. Embolo, intuitively has the right idea that the refs need more of a show to sell the roughness of Argentina’s but somehow decides to dive in the worst way possible to bait a red. Its bizzare but he clearly had the right idea but horrible excecution.
