yfw once Messi retires and thus Argentina loses its money maker, FIFA will no longer give a single shit about Argentina. They will be just a team like anyone else. By then, some other team with a star player will function as FIFA's poster child. Could be France, due to Mbappe's relative young age he still has quite a career to go so they'll cut him major slack, who knows. But what I do know is that while Argentina may "win" this World Cup as well, after 2026 they will never win a world cup ever again, unless they miraculously manage to shit out a new Messi in the future, which is statistically highly unlikely.Enjoy it while it lasts.

>>156686590I agree on most of what you said except that they will not win this World Cup the 3 other teams are more stacked they're all on an equal level that argentina simply can't reach. also future WC will have underdogs going further in the competition countries like Egypt, Switzerland or even Cabo Verde could rise up the ladder. Argentina not qualifying is also a probality. Chile, Peru or Venezuela could take their spot.
