I've seen the video. It's not like the ball was deflected into the goal or was deflected to a wide open English player who immediately kicked it in. The ball went to an English player but there were Norwegians all around him that could have either gotten the ball or stopped the English advance.
I would understand the outrage if the ball had been going one way then curved into Norway's goal, but that didn't happen. The English corralled the ball then got past Norway's defense and scored.

This is all assuming it actually hit the wire btw.

In the rules if the ball hits a foreign object they have to stop the game, I think they do a drop ball from it. But nobody noticed it here because it didn't happen.
