This is definitely the most assblasted people have been about one of the "dark horses" getting knocked out.

No win situation for the ref. Either allow the goal or disallow it based on a claim that had no hard evidence backing it. Either way somebody is outraged. Clear evidence would have been needed to overturn it and all the evidence he was supplied with suggests it didn't happen: he must go with that.
